Herzing University's Online Division has an opportunity for you to share your experience and engage our student population as a Adjunct (part-time) Faculty member within our Surgical Services Program for Associate's students; Clinical or Lab classes.
This position will meet with individual student groups for lab/clinical hours at community partner locations within the Chicago area. There are 48 hours of on-site lab that takes place during evenings and weekends. There is some flexibility on days throughout the term (8-weeks), working with the instructors schedule.
During clinical courses, this individual will travel to community partner locations within the Chicago area to "round" on students as they progress through their clinical experience. This takes place during the week. This individual will also be responsible for teaching the didactic portion of the clinical classes.
Requirements:
* Faculty must be qualified by education and experience, and must be effective in teaching the subjects assigned
* Faculty with instructional responsibilities in core surgical technology courses must:
* Have an Associates degree.
* be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
* Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national

Start Date: This position supports the STEM Pathway and is available to start in Summer 2025.
Hours: Up to 19 hours weekly, in-person, Multi-Campus. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours, Monday - Friday. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin, performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.
Salary: Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.

Supplemental Information
Start Date: This position supports the General Education Pathway. We are currently looking for instructors who can begin teaching no later than March 9th, 2025 for the start of our 8-week class sessions.
Position Details: This position is up to a .5 FTE and will require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, and other sites.
Hours, location, and modality are based on enrollment and departmental need.
Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin, performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.
Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour.
