The School of Business is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach aviation-related courses for business students starting in Fall 2025. This position focuses on integrating aviation management principles with business education, fostering hands-on learning activities that encourages critical thinking and practical application in courses such as Introduction to Aviation, Aerospace and Global Business; Trends and Current Issues in Commercial Air Transport; and Airline Management. Adjunct faculty prepare syllabi and instruction materials, coordinates class sessions and develop assessments of the performance of their students.

The successful faculty member recognizes that service to our students is our highest priority, and embraces their role in student success, recruitment, and retention. This includes being open to a variety of delivery methods and course design with the possibility of interactive, online, day, evening, weekend classes and/or teaching at various College locations and/or in the high school/college dual enrollment programs. In addition, faculty should be open to both traditional (16 week) and compressed course design (i.e., 8 week classes). Faculty can expect to participate in innovative forms of assessment and should be willing to utilize Open Educational Resources (OER) when possible.
Terms of Teaching Assignment Include:
* Meet and teach assigned class(es) in accordance with course outlines, including specified textbooks. A course outline is a district-approved document covering such items as course prefix, number, title, description, learning outcomes and content.
* Develop and submit to the division office a course syllabus and calendar based upon the approved college course outline prior to the start of class. Every course syllabus must incorporate the required components of a course syllabus. A syllabus is a learning plan designed by the instructor to inform students about the learning outcomes, assessment requirements, grading criteria, attendance standards, institution policies and support services.
* Promptly submit required rosters, grade reports, evaluations, and academic reports; retain student grade records for one calendar year.
* Follow the accepted standards of conduct for faculty as described in applicable academic policies, which relate to satisfactory service and conduct becoming of a faculty member.
* Yavapai College requires that you use the official email address provided by Yavapai College. It is expected that you will monitor the email account regularly for official correspondence from Yavapai College and your Division and respond to students in a timely and professional manner.
* Attend required instructional related meetings such as: orientation meetings, department or division meetings, other meetings as required.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
Aerospace Studies Instruction Services:
The Contractor shall apply knowledge and skills to provide the following services:
- Prepare and effectively teach Aerospace Studies Instruction, including Air Force organizational
structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, agency regulations, and policy pertaining to the
Department of the Air Force, individual and flight operations, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Provide instruction in accordance with AFROTC academic curricula, syllabi, and other
AFROTC-directed or emerging training in various settings on and off campus.
-Contractor shall ensure students are properly tested in class and successfully apply theory in
practice during training and assessment events outside of the classroom and the academic year.
-Plan, synchronize, assist, and coordinate oversight of Leadership Laboratory (LLAB),
observation of Cadet physical fitness program, coordinate training for cadet Professional Military
Training (PMT) and cadet Professional Development Training (PDT).
-Administer the AFOQT and assist in Cadet Evaluation and testing at Field Training
events, off-sites, and in classrooms.
- Review Cadet academic degree plans as part of Cadet progress reviews, ensure Cadets are
making academic progress to graduate on time, and ensuring the completed form is filed in the
Cadet's record.
- Perform various support activities for cadets utilizing the procedures in AFROTCI 36- 2011, Vol
3, to include Enrollment, Scholarship, Standards, Cadet Actions, and Medical.
- Support Cadet Pay Action IAW Holm Center Instruction 65-101; build Cadet records at DFAS,
pay actions, textbook payments, and military uniform commutation pay.
- Support resource management, administrative functions of resource management, and
Regional HQ tracking of Cadet Pay and tuition. Assist with data entries into WINGS to support Cadet
travel.
- Assist in the tracking of lesson plan updates, distribution of educational materials, and updating
of approved academic degree programs for scholarships and categorization at the Detachment,
Region, and HQ's level.
- Support compliance with the Automated AFROTC Mail Systems (ARMS) messages published
in WINGS.
- Assist with data entry of information on AFROTC Cadets and Prospects into WINGS or other
AFROTC information management systems.
- Assist with tracking of Det, Region, and HQ boards. Submit Cadet award packages, officer and
enlisted evaluations for review/approval, decorations for review/approval, promotion or Reduction-In--
Force boards, instructor qualifications, and staff packages for AETC master instructor badge nominations
- Support Det, Region, and HQ inspections, operational evaluations, and building inspections.
- Develop schedules, collect, compile, and distribute eval data, and prepare reports for publication.
- Support Cross Town Agreements that may exist with other local colleges and universities, to
include various events, training, and exercises.
- The Contractor may assist the Recruiting Officer (RO) and other cadre at recruiting and marketing
events (such as freshman orientations) by assisting with prospect development and data entry
requirements.
- The Contractor may assist the AFROTC program with its recruiting mission by participating in
and supporting events such as student orientations, college fairs, parades, high school visits, and
similar events.
- Have been a Commissioned Officer with a minimum grade of Captain with 6 years' experience in the U.S. Air Force Active Component or 10 years total service in the U.S. Air Force Reserve or Air National Guard Component for former and current Guard and Reserve Commissioned Officers.
- Meet the academic institution's qualifications and requirements for instructor positions at that institution. Some positions must be approved by the college prior to acceptance as an instructor. Those instructor qualifications are specific to each institution
- Possess a thorough knowledge of the Air Force organizational structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, agency regulations, and policy pertaining to the Department of the Air Force.
- Have knowledge and experience of Air Force training and operations. Contractor personnel performing as instructors shall possess tactical and leadership skills gained from experience within a Commissioned Officer Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) without any derogatory performance.
- Cannot have had any negative administrative actions/offenses leading to UCMJ actions and no referral performance reports (evaluations).

The Simulation Science, Games, and Animation (SSGA) degree aims to transform students into multidisciplinary designer developers equipped to anticipate, create, and construct interactive, immersive experiences. Simulation Scientist to teach the following course:
Introduction to the basic aspects of modeling and simulation. Topics include statistical models, queuing theory, random variate generation, simulation languages, object-oriented programming, graphic output with animation, design and analysis of experiments, and verification and validation of simulation models. A term project involving the simulation of an element of aviation or aerospace may be assigned. Junior standing.
Digital Illustration instructor to teach the following course:
SIM 115: Digital Illustration
This course provides an overview of illustration, its transition into the digital age and hands-on application of foundational concepts and techniques. Students will be introduced to traditional art principles and learn how to apply those aesthetic principles using digital applications and tools. The course will survey specialty areas of illustration and various software and techniques as applied to information and entertainment media.
Prerequisite: None

GOALS:
Students demonstrate an understanding of the basic underlying technology of two-dimensional digital graphics, the foundational concepts of image aesthetics, and the illustration principles and techniques to necessary to create original illustrations using industry standard, state-of-the-art software.

Use industry-standard media technologies available for digital illustration.

3D Artist / Modeler to teach the following course(s):
SIM 201: World Building, 3D Modeling
This is the introductory course focusing on content creation technologies for the production of 3D assets for world building. The focus will be on the principles and methods of modeling of organic and hard surface assets for animation. Students will achieve fundamental understanding of using 3D softwares to designing and construct 3D models.Topics will include polygon modeling, surface modeling, deformers, , animation tools for modeling, UV applications, sculpting, and procedural modeling.
Software: Maya, Zbrush, UVlayout, Adobe Photoshop
Prerequisite: None
GOALS:
Students will demonstrate the understanding and skill necessary to create 3D assets for use in virtual environments. Students will demonstrate the ability to implement various types of modeling methods and approaches to create novel virtual assets. Students will demonstrate in-depth understanding of how models can be constructed, sculpted, topologized, and UVed,for integration into a production pipeline.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of the course, students will be able do the following:
1. Define and various modeling techniques and describe the historical development.
2. Define modeling techniques and explain the appropriate application of different methods.
3. Describe concepts of modeling for animation and recognize widely used approaches and techniques.

SIM 203: World Building, Mechanics
The third in a series of courses focusing on content creation technologies for the production of 3D assets for world building. The focus will be on the principles and methods of mechanical rigging for the animation of biological and mechanical systems. Students will achieve fundamental understanding of then mechanical rigging concepts for multiple animation control types. Topics will include joint placement, connection methods, skinning, procedural deformers, set-driven key, forward kinematics, inverse kinematics, invisible control systems, and auto-rigging.
Software: Maya, Online Auto-rigging Tools
Prerequisite: SGA 201: Modeling / World Building I
GOALS:
Students will demonstrate the understanding and skill necessary to create rigs for common animation control types and demonstrate the ability to implement various types of rigging methods for novel virtual assets.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Create and edit node base-hierarchies. Identify and edit pivot point locations of nodes. Apply procedural deformers to geometry for animation. Design skeleton for several types of 3d models Apply and modify a skin weights to bind joints to geometry. Create rigging controls for a joint chain skeleton.

* Develop and submit to the division office a course syllabus and calendar based upon the approved college course outline prior to the start of class. Every course syllabus must incorporate the required components of a course syllabus. A syllabus is a learning plan designed by the instructor to inform students about the learning outcomes, assessment requirements, grading criteria, attendance standards, institution policies and support services.
* Promptly submit required rosters, grade reports, evaluations, and academic reports; retain student grade records for one calendar year.
* Follow the accepted standards of conduct for faculty as described in applicable academic policies, which relate to satisfactory service and conduct becoming of a faculty member.

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott, AZ) is searching for an adjunct physics instructor to teach undergraduate physics courses in person at ERAU's Prescott Campus.
