Department highlights The CSB+SJU Accounting & Finance program is one of the strongest in Minnesota, particularly in a small liberal arts setting. The finance major and minor were added to the list of offerings in the fall of 2023 and the program has grown to be the seventh largest major and the second largest minor on campus. The Accounting & Finance department is comprised of nine full-time faculty dedicated to close working relationships with students to enhance not only student academic learning but overall student development. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated. Responsibilities Teaching responsibilities for this position include teaching upper and lower-level finance courses. The candidate will be responsible for teaching three 4-credit courses per semester. Other duties will include contributing to departmental-level service and, if contract is renewed, student advising after first year of employment. Qualifications Required * Master's degree in finance, economics, or a closely related field (e.g., MBA), plus an acceptable professional designation, OR doctoral degree in finance, economics, or a closely related field. * At this time, acceptable designations include Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Market Technician (CMT), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). * ABDs will be considered. * Evidence of the ability to be an effective teacher at the undergraduate level. * Ability and interest in teaching several finance courses in our catalog (CPAs may also teach some accounting) ************************************************************* * Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
