Responsibilities * Teaching undergraduate courses in the interactive design program in areas such as screen design principles, interaction design methods, front-end development, and/or user research. Responsibilities Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures Have fun and create a fun experience for the children Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required Qualifications A clear Criminal and Child Abuse Registry screening 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment Education degree and/or teaching experience preferred Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis Have reliable, insured transportation to conduct mobile classes around the east side of Atlanta Programs Available to Teach: After-School Classes: 1-4 hours in length and occur between 2:00pm-6:00pm on school days Evening/Weekend Classes: 1-2 hours in length and occur in the evenings and on weekends Daytime Events: 1-6 hours in length and occur during the school day Evening/Weekend Workshops: 2-4 hours in length and occur during the evening and on weekends School Break Camps: 2-8 hours in length and occur between 8am-5pm Monday-Friday Birthday Parties: 1-2 hours in length and occur on weekends Not all Instructors are required to teach all programs. This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Instructors typically work between 2-30 hours per week.
