As a Driving Instructor on the AAA Driving School team, you will have an opportunity to make a difference in traffic safety in your local community by educating teens and adults on the fundamentals of safe driving. You will be responsible for teaching safe driving techniques to students of all ages and experience levels, provide a positive learning environment, be patient and have excellent knowledge of state driving laws and regulations. What you'll do:
Every day, you will conduct behind-the-wheel training to drivers of all ages and experience levels as prescribed by the AAA Driving School curriculum and training program

You will maintain knowledge of safe driving and defensive driving practices and maintain all records required by the state of California
This position may require you to work in various locations within a (50) mile radius. Company car with paid gas, maintenance, and insurance will be provided.

Position description
The Department of Neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is recruiting for a clinician-investigator, physician-scientist, or Ph.D. scientist to provide leadership in innovative research and education related to neurosurgery, which includes brain tumors, brain aneurysms, spinal disorders, traumatic brain injury, pituitary tumors, epilepsy, and hydrocephalus. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the department to new levels of excellence in one or more of the above areas of biomedical research, and thereby make a lasting impact within UCLA Health and the UCLA campus. As a pre-eminent clinician or scientist, scholar, and leader, the candidate will be considered for the inaugural Ruth & Raymond H. Stotter Endowed Term Chair in Neurosurgery.
Successful candidates should have national recognition and distinguished scholarship in neurosurgery or neuroscience at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the In-Residence Series or Health Science series.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop a nationally prominent clinical and/or research program in the areas of neurosurgery, which includes brain tumors, brain aneurysms, spinal disorders, traumatic brain injury, pituitary tumors, epilepsy, and hydrocephalus.
- Serve as a mentor to graduate students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty.
- Develop training and education initiatives for medical students, residents and faculty interested in neurosurgical and neuroscience research.
- Foster collaborative relationships and interdisciplinary research teams and encourage scholarship in the areas of research and treatment related to brain tumors or brain injury

The Communication Disorders Department in the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services at Cal State LA, is seeking applications for a pool of part-time faculty lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2024-2025 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Part-time faculty lecturers are hired with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires from the pool of applicants are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by an academic department based on changing enrollment patterns, changes to tenure-track faculty assignments, and other factors that cannot be addressed with existing faculty. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but occasionally academic year initial appointments are made. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance. Position:
The Department of Mathematics at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics. The position is open to all areas of research in the mathematical sciences.
In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online and will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Given CSUN's commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and engagement in a diverse environment, the successful candidate will help the Department achieve equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching, student mentorship, scholarship, and service.
Required Qualifications:
PhD degree in Mathematics or a closely related field by time of appointment from an accredited institution
Evidence of effective teaching in the mathematical sciences in person, online, or both
Evidence of conducting research in the mathematical sciences
Evidence of the development and implementation of a research program
Experience working with a diverse population that includes first-generation college students from traditionally underserved populations
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of effective teaching of advanced undergraduate or graduate courses in the mathematical sciences
Research experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds
Interest in and knowledge of CSUN and its Mathematics Department, including a vision of how the candidate plans to contribute to the program
Evidence of readiness for the responsibilities of a faculty member, balancing research, teaching, and service and obtaining externally funded grants in the mathematical sciences or related areas
Experience teaching or mentoring pre-service teachers in the mathematical sciences
Experience using active learning or other pedagogies to improve student learning outcomes for student populations similar to CSUN's
Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students
Experience creating a student-centered learning environment
Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring

RESPONSIBILITY:
The laboratory instructor is responsible for providing laboratory instruction in developing an understanding of Human Anatomy and Physiology, within the foundations of a registered nursing content. The teaching-learning work environment is generally lightly-supervised, but organized in a structured framework, and fitting within an established nursing curriculum and academic schedule. The input of the instructor is relied upon for developing a more comprehensive and understandable presentation of the course material befitting of the nursing program.
FUNCTIONS:
Prepares and sets up laboratory exercises, demonstrations, and instructional materials; monitors laboratory environment; organizes, arranges, stocks, and distributes materials, equipment, and supplies
Provides instructional support services for the RN Program; assists in instructional demonstrations of procedures and techniques; explains related principles, practices, procedures, methods, materials, terminology, tools, and equipment to students
Operates, demonstrates use of, and maintains various laboratory equipment and materials, including lab solutions, live and preserved specimens, and dissecting equipment
Cleans and ensures proper storage of laboratory equipment; ensures laboratory and work areas are in clean and orderly condition

Monitors, orders, receives, stores, and maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies and equipment as directed

APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,007 - $6,359 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $5,925 per month
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,008.40 to $7,110 per semester.
