UAA's Construction Management program is part of the Building Technologies Division housed within the University's Community & Technical College. The Construction Management program is fully accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and enjoys strong community and professional support. To thrive in this role, the candidate will have experience in online course development and teaching experience. Demonstrated experience with community business outreach. Ability to teach department courses identified with content knowledge in construction supervision, project management/scheduling, building codes, site surveying, architecture, civil engineering concepts, commercial construction techniques and understanding of steel and concrete structures. Ability to integrate appropriate computer technology including building information modeling (BIM), and construction scheduling/job control software into the curriculum. Ability to integrate sustainable building principles into the curriculum. Familiarity with circumpolar construction conditions. Commitment to excellence in teaching, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment, and evidence of scholarly/creative activity. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, peers in the profession and community. A comprehensive knowledge of the construction process, procedures, project controls, and industry, all as required to teach the courses listed. Minimum eight (8) years of experience in Construction Management or a construction-related position. Experience with circumpolar construction conditions and techniques. Minimum of two (2) semesters of teaching experience at the college level or equivalent. About the Alaska Humanities Forum (AKHF): The Alaska Humanities Forum connects Alaskans through stories, ideas and experiences that inspire understanding and strengthen community. Position Description Teaching Fellows work collaboratively to lead two-week storytelling workshops in Anchorage School District schools, helping students explore and share their personal stories. Under the supervision of the Youth Program Manager, Fellows build supportive relationships with youth, facilitate workshop activities, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. The role also involves coordinating with volunteers, preparing workshop materials, and supporting related programming. Major Areas of Responsibility Facilitate two week Story Telling Workshops with the support of other Teaching Fellows and program staff Build supportive relationships with students as they explore and share their own stories Support volunteer involvement including outreach for Story Coaching days and the general sharing of information related to future volunteer opportunities. Additional Responsibilities: Support the preparation of necessary workshop materials including student booklets, program promotional materials or student stickers. Support implementation of Story Works essay writing workshops Support the creation of a space for youth resilience building, healthy social connections, and strengthening relationships with trusted adults.     Student Support Services/Intervention Specialist Date Available: 01/08/2025 District: Lake & Peninsula Borough School District Additional Information: Show/Hide JOB OPENING Intervention Specialist (Instructional Tutor) Summary of the Job: Once hired, the District will provide round trip airfare from the closest major airport to Anchorage, where tutors will be met by district representatives for an induction and assistance with shopping and shipping. From Anchorage, the District will fly the tutors to their assigned school site for the majority of the spring semester. District housing will be provided. Tutors will be placed on the Classified Salary Scale under Aide IV: E5, $26.85 per hour. Once at their school site, tutors will meet with site administration and staff to review current interventions, summative and interim assessment data, and any other available information related to individual student needs, and from the information formulate a work schedule to address the needs of each student. Tutors work from 8:00am-4:00pm with a half-hour unpaid lunch, and one 30 minute prep period. 30 minutes before or after school will be used for additional tutoring time, based on site scheduling and needs. This equates to a 37.5 hour work-week. During their period of employment, tutors will participate in professional development provided by LPSD - essentially an extension of a teaching practicum in an inservice setting. During their time with the District, tutors will be supervised by the school principal or another district administrator with a Type B certificate. The administrator will use the same instrument completed by the tutor as a self-assessment and performance evaluation. The observation and evaluation process will result in formal, written feedback that the tutor can use as a reference when applying for work. It will also help LPSD select and offer permanent employment to the best-fit candidate(s). Reports To: Program Director / Principal / Head Teacher Required Education/Experience: College degree in education, or desire to obtain one. Alaska Certification and classroom experience are a definite plus, but not required. Necessary Skills: Must be able to travel well. Must be self-sufficient. Must be adventurous and open-minded. Collaboration with YCHC healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and integrated care for patients. Provision of education to patients and their families on exercises, activities of daily living, and self-management techniques to promote optimal health outcomes. Provision of culturally sensitive care to meet the needs of the diverse patient population in Yakutat, Alaska. Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards governing the provision of physical and occupational therapy services in Alaska. BILLING AND COMPANSATION SERVICES Rely on Member identification process to guarantee patient eligibility, service coverage, and claim payment. YCHC will supply the members insurance plan to the Physical & Occupational Therapy Services with the primary and secondary insurances designated as such. Physical & Occupational Therapy Services will submit claims to the primary and secondary insurance and then bill YCHC for any remaining balance. Claims exceeding $1000/month for items authorized in members eligible plan are submitted to YCHC. Physical & Occupational Therapy Services shall invoice YCHC monthly. YCHC will pay for services in accordance with the reimbursement rates, terms, and conditions. PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS RULES GOVERNING PROPOSAL Examination of Proposals: Examination of Proposals: The proposers should carefully examine the entire RFP and become fully aware of the nature of the work and the conditions likely to be encountered in performing the work. Proposal Acceptance Period: All proposals must be complete and irrevocable for 60 days following the proposal submission deadline. Confidentiality: The content of all proposals will be kept confidential. Signature Requirements: All proposals must contain a dated original signature (electronic signature works) on behalf of the proposer. The proposal may be signed by an officer or other agent of a corporate entity; a member of a partnership; the owner of a privately-owned entity; or other agent if properly authorized by a power of attorney or equivalent document. The name and title of the individual(s) signing the proposal must be clearly shown immediately below the signature. Proposal Submission: Proposals must be received by YCHC by the proposal submission deadline. Emailed proposals will be accepted. Oral Change/Interpretation: Written changes, clarifications, or amendments to the proposal will be posted on the YCHC website with no changes after April 30th, 2023. Include in the cover letter confirmation that you have reviewed any amendments, changes, or clarifications. Late Submissions: Proposals not received prior to the submission deadline will not be considered. PROPOSAL AND SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS To achieve a uniform review process and obtain the maximum degree of comparability, the proposals should be organized in the manner specified below. Cover Page: Include the RFP subject, the name of the proposer, address, telephone number(s), email address(es), and name and title of contact person. Services to be performed: Briefly state the proposer's understanding of the services to be performed. Experience: Identify the key personnel for the services and detail the proposer's experience in the same or similar areas of expertise, length of that experience, and the proposer's ability to provide the requested services. The proposal should contain information adequate to demonstrate that the proposer has the ability, financially and operationally, to conduct and complete the services. The proposal should also include a statement indicating that all required corporate and professional occupational licenses, and other necessary licenses/certifications, are currently held. License/certification numbers must be provided. The proposer must also have a current State of Alaska business license. References: Provide at least two references for which the proposer has provided the same or comparable services. Include for each reference a point of contact, telephone number, and a brief description of the services provided. Methodology and Approach: Provide detailed and specific information on the proposer's proposed method in meeting the scope of services identified in Section 3. Payment Rate: Provide proposed rate. Addenda: Acknowledge receipt of any Addenda. Statement regarding Debarment/Suspension: The proposer must state that neither proposer, nor proposer's principals, are presently debarred, suspended, proposed for debarment or suspension, declared ineligible, or voluntary excluded from participating in any federally or state funded programs. Signature: The proposal must be signed by an individual who has the authority to bind the proposer. The submission of a signed proposal indicates acceptance by the proposer of all the terms, conditions, and specifications contained within this RFP. Discussions may be conducted with responsible proposers who submit proposals determined to be reasonably susceptible of being selected for award. Proposers reasonably susceptible of being selected for award shall be accorded fair and equal treatment with respect to any opportunity for discussion and revision of proposals, and revisions may be permitted after submissions and before the award of the contract for the purpose of obtaining best and final offers. After best and final proposals are received, final evaluations will be conducted. The determination of the highest ranked proposer will be based on the total scores achieved. The YTT has the right to award by item, group of items, total proposal, or any combination found to be in the best interest of the Tribe. The Proposer who the Notice of Award is made to will be notified as soon as possible. Notice of Intent to Award and actual Award will be submitted to the Proposer via email. After receipt of Notice of Intent to Award, the YTT will begin negotiations towards a contract with the selected proposer. The YTT will negotiate a contract with the most qualified firm at a price that they determine is fair and reasonable. In making its determination, the YTT will consider the value of the services to be rendered as well as the scope, complexity, and professional nature of the services to be provided. If the YTT is unable to negotiate a satisfactory contract with the firm selected at a price that is determined to be fair and reasonable, negotiations with that firm will be terminated in writing. Another firm will then be selected, and the process continued until an agreement is reached or the process is terminated. This RFP is not a contract and does not obligate YCHC unless and until an agreement is approved and executed by YCHC in accordance with applicable law.
