Position Summary Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist and Physician Scientist with interest/expertise in lab work at Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pediatrics level. Duties & Responsibilities * The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed at the OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood disorder Institute. * Position includes dedicated time in the lab to conduct individual basic or translational research in pediatric oncology at University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria Campus. * See referral hematology/oncology consultations from throughout the Central Illinois Region. * Fully participate in teaching programs in hematology and oncology for undergraduate medical students and residents and participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department. * Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology * Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials research protocols at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee and the Children's Oncology Group (COG). This clinic is both a St Jude affiliate as well as active COG site. * Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration, as needed. * Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Eligible for licensure in Illinois. * Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology * 3 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship * MD/DO or equivalent * Experience in basic/translational lab work.
