Job Description
The Department of Nursing at Augsburg University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach courses in the various nursing programs, which include the BSN completion (RN-BSN), MA in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP-FNP and post-Masters DNP). In addition, the nursing department may have opportunities to be a clinical instructor for the DNP-FNP track.
Priority will be given to a candidate demonstrating interest and strength in teaching with an emphasis on transcultural nursing, public health nursing, leadership, holistic health, equity and inclusivity and social justice issues in the discipline.
This search will establish a “pool” of instructors if such openings occur during Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2026. Applicants may be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the year.
Available courses vary by term. Most classes are held during the day, 1 day per week. In addition to teaching the class and grading student work, instructors are expected to respond to student questions through email, hold regularly scheduled office hours, reach out to students with course progress information, and communicate regularly with the course coordinator. A course syllabus with calendar, textbook and homework selection, sample activities and exams, and shared office space are typically provided. Most classes are taught in-person on our Minneapolis campus. Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours/week for 15-16 weeks.
The successful candidate will possess both a high level of intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation.

Please note that due to employment law and payroll regulations, we can only employ adjunct faculty who reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. This restriction applies even to courses taught online.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctoral degree in nursing (or in progress) if applying to teach in the didactic courses
Masters degree in nursing if applying to teach in the clinical instructor position in the FNP track
Licensed and unencumbered registered nurse in the State of Minnesota or eligible for RN licensure in Minnesota.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated passion for functional medicine/integrative health, transcultural nursing, or community health
Academic preparation and teaching experience in nursing education.
Teaching experience in online, hybrid, and/or in-person formats.

This adjunct pool is being established to secure expert faculty for teaching and practical skills instruction across the didactic phase of our MSPA program. The role primarily involves teaching specific content areas or assisting with proctoring and evaluation of lab, clinical skills, and simulation sessions. We are actively seeking instructors with specialization in all clinical disciplines (e.g., Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Women's Health, Behavioral Health, etc.).
Responsibilities
Deliver face-to-face or hybrid instruction for specific lecture topics or courses, utilizing clinical expertise to foster student learning.
Assist with the coordination, proctoring, and evaluation of student performance in practical settings, including simulation labs, clinical skills sessions, and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
Review student performance data, including assessment scores and feedback, to provide timely, direct student assessment and collaboration in the remediation process for students under their direct supervision.
Foster a collaborative learning environment by effectively interacting with students, core faculty, and staff.

Skills
The successful candidate must possess expert clinical knowledge in their specialty and the ability to effectively translate that knowledge into clear, engaging didactic instruction or practical skills teaching. This expertise is vital for fulfilling contractual duties, which may include delivering a course, teaching several lectures within a course, or providing substantial lab/skills instruction support.
The candidate must be skilled at utilizing student performance data to assess progress, provide feedback, and collaborate on remediation plans. Furthermore, a high level of communication and organizational skills is crucial to effectively interact with core faculty, students, and staff. Familiarity with educational technology (LMS, simulation, etc.) is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is required. Experience in teaching, preferably in higher education, or having served as a clinical preceptor/mentor for healthcare students is highly desirable.
All areas of clinical and didactic expertise will be considered for teaching specific content (e.g., Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Orthopedics, Pharmacology, Diagnostic Reasoning, etc.).

Division of Rheumatic and Autoimmune Diseases:
The Division currently consists of eleven faculty (three at the rank of Professor, three Associate Professors and five Assistant Professors). The Division is dedicated to discovering novel therapeutic and management approaches to improve the lives of people with autoimmune diseases. The Division boasts subspecialty clinic faculty leadership and clinical trials expertise in connective tissue diseases including SLE, vasculitis, Sjogren's disease, inflammatory myopathy and systemic sclerosis.
The division currently holds four active NIH grants totaling over $5 million, including a T35 Training Grant, and activity in human and translational clinical research in the areas of human autoreactive B Cell antigen receptor diversity and Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T and N cell research programs, aimed at assessing CAR-T and NT cell efficacy in severe autoimmune diseases.
The Division has a robust clinical practice in various M Health clinics that focus on complex autoimmune diseases, as well as a 24/7 consultation service for the Fairview-UMMC hospitals on the East and West bank of the University of Minnesota campus. Dr. Erik Peterson is the Rheumatology Service Line Director for M Health and oversees the clinical practice for our academic faculty as well as Fairview-employed rheumatologists.
The Rheumatology Fellowship Program has had long-standing success since 2008 with 4.0 FTE training at four sites in the Twin Cities, led by our Program Director, Dr. Parastoo Fazeli. The Division also has a current Physician-Scientist Training Program (PSTP) fellow.
Pay and Benefits
This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. Total annual compensation ranges from $234,000 to $270,000, inclusive of base pay plus expected incentive pay commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.

Job Description
The Environmental Studies program at Augsburg University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach undergraduate courses in 2026.
This search will establish a "pool" of instructors if such openings occur during Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2026. Applicants may be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the year.
Augsburg's Environmental Studies program incorporates study in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and professional studies, and allows students to pick courses that fit with their interests and strengths. Our location in the city offers great opportunities for the close study of complex urban environments and access to change-makers, internships, and innovative research opportunities.
Available courses vary by term. Most classes are held during the day, 2-3 days per week. In addition to teaching the class and grading student work, instructors are expected to respond to student questions through email, hold regularly scheduled office hours, reach out to students with course progress information, and communicate regularly with the course coordinator. A course syllabus with calendar, textbook and homework selection, sample activities and exams, and shared office space are typically provided. Most classes are taught in-person on our Minneapolis campus. Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours/week for 15-16 weeks.
The successful candidate will possess both a high level of intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation.

Position Information:
Our Undergraduate Health Sciences program is seeking a dedicated and passionate adjunct faculty member to teach Microbiology in our College of Health & Wellness. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for grading student assignments and work within a timely manner, providing supportive student feedback, facilitating course discussions, and promoting student involvement utilizing creative and novel means of education to support the next generation of wellness professionals.
This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible, adjunct faculty position.
Work Location: Bloomington, MN in-person
Course Assignment Specifics: Microbiology (4 credits)
This course consists of three hours of lecture (hyflex & synchronous) per week and one two-hour lab per week. Both lab and lecture are delivered in person, on campus.

Duties:
Apply effective teaching and learning strategies designed to assist students in learning foundational competencies outlined in the syllabus
