Our department consists of 12 full-time faculty members, with a community-focused ethos, an interpersonally collaborative and supportive approach, and a high bar for excellence. The faculty team is dynamic and innovative, and the program has long been well-respected nationally (e.g. strong match rates to APA-Accredited and APPIC internships). The department is supported by a strong community network and an on-site community health clinic. Further, each faculty member has one day per week for dedicated clinical work/private practice. Finally, the department runs three optional specialty training tracks in addition to the Generalist curriculum. These include Assessment Track, Child and Adolescent Psychology Track, and Primary Care Track.
Our community has been focused on striving to be "different together," engaging a Christ-centered training environment that is open to students with varying levels of faith commitment. With both faith integration and engagement with diversity as primary interests of this program, we strive to train students to face the challenge of further developing and growing in their faith commitment, while also learning (and often living) alongside students who think differently than themselves. This involves humility, respect, bravery, and willingness to engage in the uncomfortable, in the interest of training excellence in clinical psychology.
While all of our faculty ascribe to a Christian worldview, we train students from a variety of spiritual and religious backgrounds. Regardless of background, George Fox University, a Christ-centered community, prepares students spiritually, academically, and professionally to think with clarity, act with integrity, and serve with passion. As a Christ- centered community, George Fox University is an institution that values diversity as an essential dimension of God's design for human communities. In seeking to become a more inclusive community, we highly encourage applications from individuals who can help us achieve our diversity and faith integration goals.
