About This Role
The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University, invites applications for a clinical or tenure track faculty position in Dermatology. On site pathology and diagnostic lab services facilitate consultation and sample submission. Collaborative research opportunities are readily available through the department, hospital, and broader college community. Primary clinical responsibilities include delivery of dermatology services to small animal patients in the Veterinary Health Center as well as consultations for equine (primarily allergy testing) and exotic species. Participation in an interdisciplinary dermatopathology group is available to the interested candidate. Teaching responsibilities include instruction of veterinary students and house officers in clinical rounds and didactic lectures. The tenure-track position carries additional responsibilities for scholarship that includes independent or collaborative research.

About This Role
Kansas State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Wheat Breeding. This is a 12-month tenure eligible position with a 90% research and 10% teaching appointment. Kansas State University is a national leader in wheat breeding and genetics, with a cohort of supportive expertise in wheat genetic resources, biotic and abiotic stresses, crop physiology, grain quality, variety deployment and commercialization, wheat agronomy, and Extension services. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Wheat Breeding will engage this interdisciplinary team to deliver innovative research and teaching that addresses complex genetic questions to enhance the productivity, sustainability, and profitability of wheat grown in Kansas and the Great Plains. The incumbent will direct a mature breeding program with opportunities to continue initiatives in value-added wheat. The primary responsibility of the position is the development and release of new commercial wheat varieties that support the continued competitiveness of wheat in the region. Collaborative opportunities to employ new plant breeding tools include, but are not limited to, genomic selection, applied molecular breeding, predictive modelling, high throughput phenotyping, and engaging with K-State's Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics (ID3A).
Cross-disciplinary collaborations are imperative among a large community of wheat research and extension personnel within the Departments of Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Entomology and Grain Science, as well as the Western Kansas Agricultural Research-Extension Centers and USDA-ARS.
This position is expected to work in collaboration with the wheat breeding program for western Kansas located in Hays. Partnerships with key stakeholders including Kansas Foundation Seed, the Wheat Genetics Resource Center, and Heartland Plant Innovations are essential. Knowledge of public and private wheat breeding germplasm and innovations and delivering this knowledge to stakeholders is expected. Significant engagement with producer-oriented groups such as the Kansas Wheat Alliance and the Kansas Wheat Commission is required.
The incumbent is expected to develop an externally funded research program, instruct graduate students, participate in the Interdepartmental Genetics Program, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and teach courses in plant breeding/genetics. The incumbent is expected to explore public-private collaborations in wheat improvement, work in a multicultural setting, and create an environment that fosters collegiality and teamwork.

Essential Functions:

Required Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree in a Family and Human Services-related field (family and human services, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling, etc.); ABD applicants will be considered, with completion of the doctoral degree by June 1, 2027.
• Licensed in Kansas through the Behavioral Science Regulatory Board (BSRB) as one of the following: LMAC, LMFT, LMLP, LP, LPC, LMSW (Clinical levels of each of these licenses also meet this requirement).
• Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.
• Experience in research, teaching, or providing services in at least one of the following areas: mental health, addiction, gerontology, trauma, human growth and development, non-profit management, families across the lifespan, etc.

Lead Firearms Instructors (LFIs) are the first point of contact for Federal Flight Deck Officers when they arrive at the training venue; are responsible for checking them in; verifying weapons and credentials; conducting training and overseeing the course of fire at the gun-range. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel on the range and securing SSI and SPII information during and after requalification sessions.
HOW A LEAD FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Lead Firearms Instructors (LFIs) are the first point of contact at the training venue for Federal Flight Deck Officers (FFDO) and is the on-site training manager for the program. LFIs conduct all classroom instruction; delivering the approved TSA training and safety brief; introducing and describing new equipment; and ensuring all students understand and sign the safety briefing. The LFI ensures a minimum number of SFIs are present to maintain an instructor/student ratio of 1:6 for each training session. The LFI must ensure a sufficient inventory of training supplies is on-hand at the training venue to support monthly requalification sessions. The LFI is expected to maintain positive control of the training environment from the moment students arrive at the venue to the moment they depart. Upon students? arrival; the LFIs must verify weapons and credentials of each FFDO before training commences by visual inspection. The LFI is responsible for ensuring proper scoring of targets; completion of applicable administrative forms; and collection of training data. The LFI is required sign and certify qualification scores for all FFDOs attempting to qualify. Failure of an FFDO to qualify also means that an authorized FAMS Representative and/or LFI takes custody of the unloaded weapon; transport device (lockbox); credential and other equipment for return to TSA/FAMS. If no authorized FAMS representative is present to receive the equipment; the LFI shall make immediate verbal notification to the FFDO Program Office in order to make the appropriate arrangements to return equipment and credentials. The LFI must keep all Sensitive Security Information (SSI) and Sensitive Personally Identifying Information (SPII) secured appropriately both during and after a re-qualification session in compliance with the TSA MD 2100.2; Privacy and Information Collection Policy and TSA MD 1400.3 TSA Information Security Policy. The LFI is oversees time keeping of all SFI labor hours. The LFI must comply with internal compliance training events
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
EDUCATION / EQUIVALENT TRAINING: Current or former federal law enforcement agent; officer; or civilian employee having completed a recognized federal firearm instructor training program deemed acceptable by the TSA/FAMS. Examples of a recognized federal firearms instructor programs include; but are not limited to; certified instructor graduates of FLETC Firearms Instructor Training program (FITP); FAMS Firearms Instructor Training Program; FBI/DEA Firearms Instructor Training Program; United States Postal Inspectors Firearms Instructor Training Program or equivalent federal training program. All LFIs must successfully complete a 2-3 days firearms re-qualification training program under the technical direction of the SAC; FAMS Training Division; and the FFDO Program Office. Areas of instruction shall include; but not to be limited to; the re-qualification course(s) of fire; procedural requirements for conducting the re-qualification session; and use of a GFE Automatic External Defibrillator (AED); and basic first aid.

UNIQUE/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Working Conditions The work is typically performed at an indoor or outdoor gun range. Employees will be required to handle weapons and ammunition in the course of their duties. Exposure to high volumes of noise due to the firing of weapons will occur and employees are required to wear hearing protection in the form of foam ear plugs as well as external hearing protection. Exposure to expelled gun-powder as a result of fired ammunition is expected; and the employees must wash hands after handling ammunition. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials; boxes; or equipment. *This position requires applicants to successfully complete the security application and pass a background investigation clearance prior to starting.*

A student-centered approach to teaching is required. The primary responsibilities are to teach graduate-level courses within the business discipline.

This position resides within the Division of Business, Professional Schools. The division provides graduate education in business administration, culminating in a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree. All adjunct faculty members shall support the Bethany College Mission.
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. or terminal degree in related business curriculum preferred; ABD, or MBA with teaching and/or professional business experience will be considered.
Conduct class sessions as scheduled.
Highly motivated, works well both independently and in a team environment.
Functional knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, and Canvas LMS.
Willingness to adapt to a changing technological environment, and competent in electronic mail and document management.
Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, grades, and attendance.
