Statement of Purpose
Regional Clinical Faculty (RCF) advise, support, educate and evaluate students. The RCF supports and collaborates with clinical preceptors, in keeping with the policies established by the University, to ensure an effective clinical experience for students.
The RCF provides leadership in establishing relationships within the nurse-midwifery/ nurse-practitioner community to further the goal of increasing and maintaining access to clinical sites for Frontier Nursing University (FNU), and to ensure the larger goal of increasing access to nurse-midwifery/nurse-practitioner care.
The RCF participates in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum in their area of advanced practice nursing.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
University Related
Promotes the mission and philosophy of FNU.
Ambassador for FNU.
Attends University, department, RCF, faculty meetings and commencement.
Participates in Standing and Ad Hoc Committees as elected or appointed by the Dean.
Participates in professional organizations.
Participates in the annual Fall Faculty Meeting and Commencement.
Participates in scholarly work.
Participates in Clinical and/or Frontier Bound as assigned.
Maintains knowledge of and competency in FNU procedures, policies, communication systems, and technologies.
Effectively collaborates with all departments at FNU to ensure student success and site/ preceptor satisfaction.
Course Related
Orients students to course expectations.
Communicates effectively with students demonstrating respect and professionalism.
Responds to student email or telephone messages in accordance with University Communication Policy (unless ill or on vacation).
Establishes office hours at varied times (considering different time zones) for communication with students.
Documents student progress in course work and clinical setting at least every term via the university student retention system ( i.e.: Dropout Detective).
Maintains currency in the content area through participation in clinical practice and/or continuing education.
Assigns grades and maintains course gradebook and student records meeting timeline requirements for grade submission.
Community Service
Provides service to the profession, to the university, and/or to the home community.
Student Involvement - Preclinical period
Responds to student initiated contact after Frontier Bound to discuss role of RCF and general plans for clinical practicum.
Works collaboratively with the Clinical Outreach and Placement Unit to support students in the clinical site identification process.
Conducts Question & Answer sessions to support students' clinical plan development.
Reviews and approves the student's Clinical Plan approximately four- six months prior to Clinical Bound and as needed.
Works collaboratively with the Clinical Credentialing Department to ensure clinical site and preceptor quality assurance measures are maintained.
Assigns Clinical Bound date for the students following confirmed site and completion of clinical site approval.
Conducts a pre-clinical orientation session prior to Clinical Bound term, to review the clinical course requirements, policies and processes.
Clinical period
Creates a social, cognitive and teaching presence during courses through twice monthly meetings with assigned students.
Reviews and evaluates clinical course assignments, student evaluation tools, and student's clinical documentation.
Maintains contact with the clinical student's primary clinical preceptor at least monthly.
Completes evaluation of clinical students on-site or virtually.
Advises students for course registration for each term following Clinical Bound.
Works with students and Clinical Director to help students maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Coordinates and verifies end of clinical details.
Works with the students and preceptor to identify and find solutions to clinical problems
Clinical Site and Preceptor Evaluation
Completes and submits clinical site and preceptor evaluations.
Preceptor Support
Provides preceptors with guidance in student interactions.
Encourages preceptors to participate in preceptor education and offerings related to precepting.
Provides and clarifies FNU's policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Nationally certified in an appropriate advanced practice role.
Active in the nurse-midwifery or nurse practitioner community.
Doctorate in Nursing (or working toward) or related field.
Experience in precepting students is preferred.
Skilled in communication, problem solving, computer literacy, management, and organization preferred.
Willing to travel.
Unencumbered license to practice
Reporting Relationship
The Regional Clinical Faculty reports to the Clinical Director based on specialty areas.

We are currently looking for an Adjunct Culinary Instructor at our Lexington location. Adjunct faculty members report to their respective Dean; however, they may have a dotted line reporting responsibility to a specified Department/Program Director or General Education Chair. Adjunct faculty members are student-centered, teaching mentors who assist students to progress through their academic programs to completion. Essentially, the adjunct faculty member's responsibilities involve instruction and assessment of student learning.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with a commercial kitchen, ability to apply formal culinary education training in a classroom environment, ability to stand for several hours at a time. a passion for cooking and student success, a willingness to teach classes or students, and work individually with students as necessary to perfect their cooking skills. Experience in staff training, ServSafe or e-Food handler, proficiency in quality and quantity cookery, managerial communication and organizational skills, food inventory and procurement preferred.
Pay for this position is $1900 per class.
Hours for this position will be as needed online, face-to-face (7am - 2pm), or hy-flex
Responsibilities of the position include:
Within face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or HyFlex learning environments, the faculty member facilitates student learning, delivers effective and career-relevant instruction, provides an environment conducive to learning, evaluates student learning for all assigned classes, responds to student inquiries and grades all assignment in a timely manner.
Engages student by using student engagement instructional techniques (i.e., collaborative learning, experiential learning, and/or problem-based learning).
Delivers course curriculum utilizing the University's learning management system.
Participates in course and program level learning assessments, i.e., helping define student learning outcomes, choosing and administering measures, evaluating student performance, suggesting changes to improve student learning, and as assigned, identifying updates and corrections to courses.
Work with the Dean, Department Chair, and/or Program Director, in the development and revision of course maps and reviews/participates in the selection and revision of course materials, processes where appropriate.
Schedules, supervises, debriefs, and evaluates students in clinical, externship, observation, field experience, and similar settings as appropriate for the course or program.
Participates in student retention, reaching out to students who have excessive absences, documenting their student retention activities, and ensuring students are aware of University services that may be of value to their students' successful completion of their academic program
Communicates availability (e.g., office hours) to all students (i.e., face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or HyFlex learning environments) via email, phone, or other personal contact.

Master's preferred, Bachelor's with industry experience considered; ServSafe & Progressional certification a plus.
Minimum of 10-years industry experience in culinary, baking, hospitality, or nutrition; professional current specialty certification helpful.
