    Job Title: Advanced Medical Instructor (Secret Cleared) Duration: Permanent, Direct Hire Salary Range: $110-117,000 (Based on Experience) Verigent's client is seeking a qualified Advanced Medical Instructor who will be responsible for delivering both basic and advanced medical instruction for JSOMTC medical courses. In alignment with the most current Program of Instruction (POI) and Performance Work Statement (PWS), the instructor will play a vital role in enhancing the medical skills of participants. The role entails providing instruction and support for various Combat Medic medical courses, including SOF Medical Skills Sustainment Course (SOCMSSC), Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM) / Special Forces Medic Sergeant (SFMS) Courses, and Special Forces Medical Sergeant Skills Sustainment Course (SFMS3). Responsibilities: • Serve as primary teaching staff in nine concurrently run medical curriculum courses. Serve as subject matter experts for technical accuracy and quality of subject matter presentations in the SFMS and SOCM courses. The instructor shall also serve as assistant instructors in classes where they do not have primary teaching responsibility. • Perform the duties of assistant instructors and technical consultants, and advisors during surgical and live tissue blocks of instruction and demonstration. • Serve as technical consultant and advisor for the content and quality of all presentations. • Coordinate classes and prepare all facets of lesson plans in cooperation with the Course Director per Special Warfare Center & School (SWCS) guidance and standards, including developing and implementing practical exercises and learning activities. • Manage primary teaching responsibility for classes assigned. Teaching methods shall include large-group classroom instruction, small-group instruction, and hands-on training. • Assemble and maintain all material pertaining to blocks of instruction, including lesson plans, visitor's folder, etc. • Consult with outside SMEs on technical issues after obtaining Government approval. SMEs may be invited to guest lectures with director approval, but primary teaching responsibility and duty will remain with Advanced Medical Instructor I. • Assist in the recommendation and evaluation of new or emerging medical technology for the field. The evaluation shall be done within the facility or compound. • Serve as informal cadre and student mentors in professional medical matters and on military issues as experience allows. They shall perform as consultants to cadre faculty advisors and as student counselors on an as-needed basis. Qualifications: • Graduate of a World Health Organization accredited medical school or American Medical Association/American Academy of Physician Assistants accredited physician assistant program or Certified Nurse Practitioner. • Complete an approved Instructor Trainer Course and Instructor Developer Course provided by the Government during work hours. • All instructors shall possess current certifications in the following: o Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS-I) o Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) o Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor (ACLS-I) o Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals (PEPP) Instructor o American Heart Association (AHA) Certification.     Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring an Adjunct Instructor in the English as a Second Language (ESL) Department. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for course preparation, delivery, grading, and records management. The Instructor will work closely with the Program Director, ESL on matters related to and for the benefit of the English as a Second Language Department and its students. The Durham Technical Community College English as a Second Language Instructor will: * Initially and continuously assess student goals. * Assess student progress both formally and informally throughout the reporting period. * Prepare and deliver classroom presentations at the appropriate level for the students within a given class. * Meet every scheduled class for the entire scheduled time, except for approved absences with advance notice. * Vary methods of classroom instruction and involve adult students in classroom activities. * Use materials and resources appropriate for adults. * Incorporate the life experience that learners bring to the classroom. * Create and maintain a positive and non-intimidating learning atmosphere. * Respect the culture and ethnicity of the students. * Report student attendance information using Web Attendance throughout the instructional period. * Communicate regularly with the ESL Program Director in person or by phone/email. * Complete all mandatory training. Bachelor's Degree (or Higher), ESL training, and ESL teaching experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in TESL or a closely related field. One or more years of experience teaching ESL in an adult education program. * Thorough understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the North Carolina Community College System * Demonstrated ability to use modern instructional technology (Microsoft Office, learning management systems, e-mail, Internet, student information databases, library research databases) and experience with Internet-based instruction * Competence in oral and written communication skills necessary for effective teaching * Ability to be organized, accurate, and punctual with paperwork and assigned tasks * Sensitivity to the needs and expectations of students, colleagues, and community groups * Ability to make presentations to small or large audiences * Ability to establish and maintain effective, civil, and respectful communication and interpersonal relations throughout the college and the community * Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality * Familiarity with OSHA standards as they apply to educational environments Physical Demands: Reasonableaccommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
