    Adjunct - Anatomy & Physiology Lab Instructor Media, PA, US Salary Range: $1000.00 per credit Summary of Position: The Pennsylvania Institute of Technology seeks adjunct Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) Lab Instructors to support instruction within the College's Health Sciences and Nursing programs. Instruction is conducted in-person in laboratory settings on the Media campus, with occasional virtual support via Zoom or Canvas as needed. The Lab Instructor will report to the Director of Health Sciences (or designee) and collaborate closely with the Nursing and Health Sciences faculty to ensure effective student learning outcomes. Flexibility, professionalism, and engagement are key. Supervisor Responsibilities: None Essential Job Functions Essential duties include, but are not limited to: Facilitate hands-on laboratory sessions for Anatomy & Physiology I and II courses, emphasizing safety, technique, and applied understanding of human body systems. Prepare laboratory materials, demonstrations, and instructional aids that enhance student learning. Oversee and maintain laboratory equipment, models, and specimens , ensuring a safe and organized learning environment. Provide instructional support in both lecture-related and independent lab exercises. Evaluate and grade laboratory assignments, reports, and assessments in accordance with established rubrics and academic standards. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate laboratory discussions and student inquiry. Maintain accurate attendance and performance records in compliance with College policies. Collaborate with the program director and faculty to plan, revise, and improve lab content and instructional methods. Assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce understanding of complex physiological and anatomical concepts. Ensure all activities comply with college safety, ethical, and academic integrity policies. Required Skills / Abilities Ability to engage students through active, experiential learning. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Technological proficiency, including familiarity with Canvas, Microsoft Office 365, and Zoom. Ability to adapt to different instructional modalities and troubleshoot technical issues. Knowledge of laboratory safety standards , including handling biological models and chemicals safely. Qualifications Master's degree in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, or a closely related field strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, or a closely related field required. Prior college-level teaching experience (lecture or lab) strongly preferred. Experience with nursing, allied health, or pre-medical students highly desirable. Knowledge of pedagogical best practices and evidence-based teaching strategies in the sciences. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during lab instruction. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds of lab materials or equipment. Prolonged periods of walking, bending, or moving within lab spaces. Use of protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, and lab coats as appropriate.
