We are open to applicants whose research agenda focuses on substantive areas of interest (e.g., direct clinical social work practice, health, mental health, policy, community engagement, global health and global mental health, data science and machine learning, and eHealth). As part of the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences, members of our faculty engage in innovative interdisciplinary, translational, and implementation research focusing on finding solutions to promote the quality of life, health and the safety of diverse populations and communities.
Minimum Qualifications:
· MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work or related area (Ph.D. must be conferred by August 7, 2026).
Preferred Qualifications:
· A demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, peer-reviewed publications, externally funded research or strong potential for securing external funding, and service
· MSW from a CSWE accredited School of Social Work
· 2 Years post graduate practice experience
The responsibilities of this position include: teach doctoral, master's, and undergraduate level courses in Social Work; assist in Ph.D. student research and dissertation studies; and engage in scholarship, research, and grant and contract submissions, and service. Teaching will occur on the Tampa campus for face-to-face classroom instruction (candidates must be available on campus). This is a 9-month tenure/tenure-track continual appointment, subject to annual evaluations. Salary is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include teaching three four-credit hour courses at graduate and undergraduate levels during each semester in information systems, such as management information systems, business information technology concepts, and web and mobile technology applications. The faculty member is also expected to maintain an active research agenda and publish in high quality peer reviewed journals, as well as engage in service and student involvement activities at the department, college, and university levels.
The ITM department offers undergraduate degree programs in business information technology, cybersecurity, financial enterprise systems, and management information systems. This is in addition to master's degrees in business analytics, cybersecurity, and information and technology management. The ITM department is housed in a state-of-the-art technology building with advanced cybersecurity labs and computer classrooms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Utilizes innovative teaching methods, instructional technologies, and experiential learning opportunities to engage students and enhance their understanding of course material.
Designs and develops instructional materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with program objectives and industry standards.
Fosters a collaborative and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and actively participate in their educational journey.
Conducts engaging and interactive lectures, demonstrations, and presentations to convey medical assisting concepts effectively. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Oversees laboratory activities, including hands-on skill demonstrations, simulations, and practice sessions. Provide guidance and feedback to students to enhance their proficiency in clinical procedures.
Coordinates clinical experiences for students in healthcare settings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining positive relationships with clinical partners.
Assess student performance through examinations, projects, presentations, and clinical evaluations. Provide constructive feedback to support students' learning and professional development.
Offers personalized academic support, mentorship, and career advice to students, helping them navigate challenges, overcome obstacles, and make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures.
Stays updated on advancements, healthcare regulations, industry trends and developments in your field of expertise, continuing education practices, and pedagogical trends, incorporating new knowledge and methodologies into your teaching practice to enrich the student learning experience.
Participates in continuing education opportunities to enhance teaching skills and maintain licensure or certification requirements.
Maintains accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress. Assist with program accreditation processes, program reviews, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Collaborates with program directors, faculty members, and healthcare professionals to enhance the quality of instruction and promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the institution.
Education & Experience:
Graduate from a program in a Dental Assistant or closely related field required, with diploma.
A minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience providing direct patient care as a Dental Assistant
Active, unrestricted industry certification/licensure, if work in the field is required
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday
5:00pm to 10:00pm
20-25 hours per week
Course term is 6 weeks, and will start new sessions in continuous cycles

Excelsior University is building a pool of part-time faculty and lab instructors to support its hybrid undergraduate, graduate (MCY), and certification-prep programs in Information Technology and Cybersecurity.
Courses are delivered in an asynchronous online format, with in-person lab components held at our St. Petersburg, FL site. Instructors are responsible for the full cycle of online teaching, facilitating learning through video announcements, discussions, assignments, and grading with substantive feedback, while also leading hands-on lab sessions that reinforce applied skills and workforce readiness.
Depending on qualifications, instructors in this pool may be assigned to:
Undergraduate IT and Cyber courses (e.g., hardware, networking, systems administration, cyber defense).
Graduate-level MCY courses (e.g., governance, leadership, advanced technical cyber operations).
Certification-prep labs (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, CySA+, PenTest+, CEH, CISSP).
Lab sessions are typically 3-hours in length, scheduled evenings and weekends to accommodate working adult learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate in-person and hybrid lab sessions aligned with course outcomes and/or certification objectives.
Guide students through practical exercises such as:
IT hardware setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Networking, systems administration, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
Cybersecurity practices including system hardening, penetration testing, incident response, GRC, and digital forensics.
Reinforce online learning with applied demonstrations, scenarios, and workforce-focused coaching.
Provide timely, constructive feedback on lab performance and support student learning.
Maintain and update physical and virtual lab environments to ensure safety, functionality, and relevance.
Collaborate with faculty, site staff, and lab technicians to ensure seamless integration between online and in-person learning.
Stay current with IT and Cybersecurity trends, tools, and certifications.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Excelsior's hybrid lab model, including new bootcamps, intensives, and high-impact learning experiences.
Certification-Prep & Undergraduate IT/Cybersecurity Courses
:
Master's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or closely related field.
2+ years of professional experience in IT, networking, systems, or cybersecurity operations.
At least one current professional certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Security+, Linux+, CEH, CySA+, PenTest+).
Demonstrated ability to facilitate asynchronous online learning (video announcements, discussions, grading with feedback) and in-person lab components.
Preferred:
Doctoral degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Multiple professional certifications.
College-level teaching experience, especially with adult and nontraditional learners.
Familiarity with online teaching platforms, virtual labs, and LMS systems.
Experience integrating certification preparation into academic coursework.
Graduate MCY (Master of Cybersecurity) Courses
:
Doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline (terminal degree required for graduate-level teaching).
Significant professional experience in cybersecurity operations, leadership, governance, or advanced technical areas.
Ability to design and deliver rigorous graduate-level instruction in an asynchronous online environment, with support for hybrid lab elements where applicable.
Preferred:
Multiple advanced professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, CySA+, PenTest+).
Graduate-level teaching experience, especially with adult and nontraditional students.
Experience with accreditation standards, curriculum design, or program development.
