The Position
The Caifornia State University Dominguez Hills Department of English is hiring an Assistant/Advanced Assistant/Associate Professor of English with a specialty in Applied Linguistics. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both our B.A. program in Language and Linguistics and ouar M.A. program in Teaching English as a Second Language. She/he will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and serve on department, college, and/or university committees. This includes the ongoing evaluation and improvement of our programs. The normal teaching load is 4-4, with a reduced 3-3 load for the first two years and additional opportunities for reduced teaching load in future years.
Responsibilities
In addition to having a Ph.D. in Applied Lingusitics or Linguistics, the idea candidate will offer innovative approaches to teaching language pedagogy and theory. For a full-time, two-semester position, a maximum starting range of ($67,053-$159,855) is offered, based on the salary schedule of AA (AA Salary Schedule) . In addition, an annual stipend of $3,911 is offered for possession of an earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
