Appropriate professional experience and achievements may be substituted when formal teaching experience is limited or absent. A candidate for appointment to the rank of Associate Professor shall be required to meet the following qualifications: An earned doctorate or the highest appropriate credential in the field of specialization, or experience and achievements comparable to the doctorate; A record of scholarship and professional growth; and At least five (5) years of full-time teaching experience in an institution of higher education, including three (3) years as an Assistant Professor.
