The Department of Biostatistics and the Department of Epidemiology have launched a joint search under the Neuroscience Initiative and invite applications for up to three full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month tenured or tenure track open rank faculty positions. The successful candidates will be part of an academic community that prioritizes innovation, creativity, and collaboration. The University of Florida has significant breadth and depth in neuroscience research. This includes, for example, research in neuro- and neuromuscular imaging, movement disorders, spinal cord injury and stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, and neurorehabilitation. Focus is now being placed on leveraging the existing strengths of UF to recruit faculty in biostatistics and epidemiology who can serve as neuroscience principal investigators and collaborators. There is a tremendous need for faculty who can perform epidemiological/clinical epidemiology/biostatistics studies in neurosciences. What you will be doing * Teaches lecture and laboratory sections * Evaluates and advises students * Develops curricula * Maintains department standards * Recruits and participates in retention of students * Serves on committees * Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed * Master's degree in Geographical Information Systems Technology, Geospatial or Spatial Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering; or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in one or any of the following fields: Geographical Information Systems Technology, Geospatial or Spatial Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering. * All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution * Experience with applied learning methodologies * Ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills * Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) * Ability to work well with students and colleagues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment * Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekend assignments Preferences * For best consideration upload your unofficial transcripts along with cover letter and resume.
