Brief Description of Duties for Lecturer A Position
We are seeking qualified lecturers to teach and supervise SSED 184Z: Phase II Student Teaching on a part-time, temporary basis. This is a 4-unit, graduate course offered through the History Department and the College of Education/Teacher Education Department that fulfills the Phase II Student Teaching requirement to earn a CA teaching credential.
Candidates must meet with students as required; use Canvas and other appropriate instructional technology; attend faculty and college meetings; maintain student records (attendance in district placements, Individual Development Plans (IDP) and mentor and supervisor formative and summative evaluations); and follow all CSU and SJSU policies and guidelines.
Candidates must have Social Science secondary education (7-12th grades) teaching experience.
The candidate must demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a student population of great diversity - in age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation - through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
Required Qualifications
BA in a Social Science subject area; i.e., U.S. History; World History; Political Science.
Minimum of 5 years of U.S. and/or World History teaching experience at the secondary education level (7-12th grade)
Ability to teach, observe, and evaluate single subject secondary education student teachers in their field placements.
Evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work and employment in an educational setting.

The SCI leads an Early Drug Development (EDD) Program focused on Phase I clinical trials in oncology. Increasingly, these Phase I studies serve an important role in the oncology drug development ecosystem where not only toxicity, but efficacy data are acquired with the goal of improving the standard of care for oncology patients.
This position is open to candidates trained in developing and conducting early phase innovative clinical/translational trials with targeted agents and immunotherapeutics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a clinical/translational research, teach graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and clinical fellows, and participate in the Oncology clinics. The SCI and the Division of Oncology benefits from an outstanding scientific and clinical environment, including active collaboration with the basic science departments and other Stanford Institutes. Eligible candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD and be board-certified in medical oncology.
The successful candidate will have experience working with a broad spectrum of investigators and, preferably, a dedicated interest in a particular disease area and/or focus on a therapeutic pathway, or experience with genomics and other biomarkers. Participation in relevant clinical and basic science conferences is also expected.

The Department of Learning and Instruction prepares leaders to transform themselves and organizations across K-12, higher education, and community contexts by creating knowledge that informs research and practice for justice. The department houses several programs, with offerings at the master's and doctoral levels, online and in person. This includes:

Our courses provide engagement in deep theoretical and critical concepts, coupled with application to real-life settings and tensions is social justice work in educational and community organizations to best prepare our students to lead in ways that transform organizations and society for equity and justice. Students engage in problems of practice through class activities and course assignments. The course curriculum is structured in such a way so as to provide scaffolded support, from initial onboarding through graduation. Faculty provide holistic advising inside and outside of the classroom to support students as they navigate graduate education and beyond. Our part-time faculty colleagues bring day-to-day perspectives of social justice in the field, expanding and complementing our students' experiences in the program.
As a department designed to serve working professionals, our courses during the academic year are structured along a teaching weekend format, whereby classes meet 9 times bi-weekly for four hours and fifteen minutes on either Thursday or Friday evenings, Saturday mornings or Saturday afternoons. Our programs are mainly in person, with select online options. Our students come from the Bay Area and beyond, with many of our students commuting to San Francisco from across California, the US, and the world.

Full Job Description:
Selected candidates will be hired as adjunct faculty in the School of Education. Hired faculty will be responsible for the full development and teaching of a departmental course, as assigned, and work collaboratively to fulfill the desired outcomes of courses as communicated by the department chair. Faculty are to ensure course content is rigorous and class is structured in ways that support students' learning and success. Faculty are to teach within the teaching weekend schedule and provide support to students between class meetings via individual meetings and responsiveness via email. Further, part-time faculty are invited to meet regularly with the chair and department colleagues to communicate about students' experiences in the course and across their programs. Part-time faculty are protected under and expected to abide by the guidelines outlined in the USF Part-Time Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Ideal candidates will meet all or most of the following criteria:
* Demonstrated experience in leadership across educational and/or community contexts
* Enacted commitment to advancing social justice as a leader and educator in K-12, higher education, and/or community organizations
* Command of theories centered in social justice at a conceptual and applicable level
* Hold a doctorate in education, social/critical theory, sociology, or related field with application to educational organizations
* Currently hold or have held teaching positions at the graduate level, particularly with students from marginalized backgrounds, working within social-justice-centered settings, and working full-time

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general supervision of the assigned TrAC Dean, the Professor will teach classes in the Associate Degree Nursing program and other Health Sciences programs. The successful candidate will provide evidence of knowledge and understanding of the racial, socioeconomic, and academic diversity within community college populations; the candidate also will show knowledge and understanding of how these factors relate to the need for equity-minded and culturally-responsive practices in the community college setting.
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Conduct and organize classes at the instructional level to meet the educational requirements stated in the course description and the course information outlines.
* Advise and assist students in achieving stated course objectives and student learning outcomes.
* Evaluate the progress of each student; connect students to appropriate campus-support services.
* Participate in the evaluation of course offerings, including the revision of course descriptions and course outlines that reflect a culturally-responsive pedagogy.
* Select textbooks, audiovisual and other instructional materials that support the learning environment and are reflective of the college's mission of equity-minded education.
* Maintain currency in your field.
* Maintain necessary records of student enrollment, attendance, progress, and grades; prepare and submit required reports to the administration.

BOARD OF REGISTERED NURSING REQUIREMENTS:

* At least one academic year of experience teaching nursing courses in pre-or post-licensure registered nursing programs or a course from an accredited college or nursing school which includes: teaching strategies, course outline and lesson plan development, practice teaching and evaluation.
