The Human Biology Department at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay is seeking applicants for a 9-month non-tenure-track position with primary responsibility in teaching undergraduate courses. The position will be hired at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank. Qualified candidates will have expertise in Human Physiology, or related areas. Applicants with experience teaching first-year students are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which is interdisciplinary in nature and has a strong history of preparing students for careers in health professions.
The faculty in Human Biology are engaged in all aspects of student success including students in scholarly activities, advising students, supervising research projects, developing curriculum, interdisciplinary research, serving at all levels of the university, participating in community outreach, and other activities.
This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay's mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
Key Job Responsibilities:
* Teaching a course load of 27 contact hours per academic year
* Primary teaching responsibility will be to teach upper-level Human Physiology lecture and lab, and lower-level Introduction to Human Biology. Opportunities to create and teach other courses in area of expertise may be explored (for example, Neurobiology, motor learning and performance, etc.).
* Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay
* Service responsibilities include advising students and contributing to departmental and institutional development

Conditions of Appointment:
The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to teach a course or work at the Manitowoc or Sheboygan Campus, based on operational needs.

Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners by participating in advisory committees, external meetings, business visits, and community groups Collaborate with staff to recruit students, participate in recruitment events, and proactively promote the College and our programs.
Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and engage in activities that help students reach their goals by collaborating with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful. Minimum QualificationsEducation and/or Experience Requirements:
Associate Degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Five years of occupational experience in the relevant field of instruction, with at least one year of experience within the past five years. (One year of the occupational experience requirement may be waived if the individual has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the last five years.)

Valid Driver's License.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Completion of a Nail Technician program focused on Wisconsin state licensure.
Minimum of at least 4,000 hours in the field within the last five years.
Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
A current Wisconsin Nail Technician license is required.
Current knowledge of nail techniques as well as equipment and sanitation requirements.
Knowledge of the latest trends.
Knowledge of current licensing requirements and current Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Codes relating to the practice of Nail Technician.
Understand the role of the Nail Technicians as part of the salon team.
Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of, and throughout employment as an instructor.
Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job-specific licensing standards.

The Hub offers professional-grade labs and studios that support a variety of student media, including an award-winning online radio station, Radio GBX, the streaming video production outfit TV GBX, multi-platform student journalism through the Fourth Estate, and online game streaming and studies as part of the Center for Games and Interactive Media. The department also boasts award-winning faculty and emphases in Health Communication, Organizational Communication, and Public Relations, as well as Sports Communication and Mass Media. (1) will be required to monitor a general traffic safety course:
1. Traffic safety experience equal to one of the following:
(a) Two years of occupational experience, or a comparable amount of experience and education in the area of traffic safety or a related field, such as driver education, law enforcement, fleet safety management, or experience in a safety related position with the division of motor vehicles.
(b) Monitor the WTC general traffic safety course plus have completed a one semester, or 45 hour, traffic safety studies or accident prevention course.
2. AODA experience equal to one of the following:
(a) Two years of occupational experience or a comparable amount of experience and education in the area of AODA counseling, education, or treatment or related fields, such as student assistance program director or employee assistance program director.
(b) Completed a minimum of 45 hours in an accredited college level course in the area of AODA education or treatment.
3. Group process experience equal to one of the following:
(a) Two years occupational experience in group process work or group counseling as a treatment or education professional.
(b) Completed a minimum of 45 hours in an accredited college level course in the area of group work methods, group counseling or group process.
Traffic Safety School Instructor Qualifications
To be certified, a traffic safety instructor shall have a minimum of traffic safety experience equal to one of the following:

The successful applicant will contribute to a vibrant, multidisciplinary academic unit with a rapidly growing student population that also oversees the cutting-edge Media Hub on the UW-Green Bay campus. The Hub offers professional-grade labs and studios that support a variety of student media, including an award-winning online radio station, Radio GBX, the streaming video production outfit TV GBX, multi-platform student journalism through the Fourth Estate, and online game streaming and studies as part of the Center for Games and Interactive Media. The department also boasts award-winning faculty and emphases in Health Communication, Organizational Communication, and Public Relations, as well as Sports Communication and Mass Media. The department is also part of the interdisciplinary Media Arts and Production major, collaborating with English, Theater, and other programs to develop well-rounded media professionals.

Summary
FVTC adjunct faculty are dynamic partners for both students and the College. An adjunct instructor works with students beyond the classroom to ensure their success, models FVTC core values, and demonstrates commitment to excellence in program/course content and delivery. An adjunct instructor can work effectively in a collaborative environment, is willing to innovate and change to meet evolving program and industry needs and demonstrates competency with use of technology that supports learning and teaching. Generally, an adjunct instructor will be hired to instruct specific open classes based upon the adjunct instructor's qualifications and availability.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
