Job Summary

South College invites applications for full-time (12 months) Assistant or Associate Professor core faculty in the hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the South College Nashville campus. While relocation to Nashville is encouraged, it is not required for all positions.
Our specific needs are for an experienced core faculty member with expertise in developing student professionalism, foundational content, and potentially, pediatric and/or geriatric contemporary expertise

Responsibilities:

About the Position

In continuation of these recent hires, the Radioisotopes Cluster is seeking to fill its senior-level faculty vacancy. The long-term plan for hires within this cluster include 1) development of new radiochemistry labs, 2) development of enhanced radioisotope curriculum and establishment of a summer school in collaboration with partners at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and UT-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute (UT-ORII), 3) expansion of partnerships with local hospitals, veterinary centers, and/or businesses with interests in isotope use and research, and 4) establishment of transformational campus-based research center(s). This search aligns well with the current initiatives at ORNL and UT-ORII, including the recently funded $20M Convergent Research Initiative (CRI) in Development and Advancement of Radiopharmaceutical Therapies (DART).
The Tickle College of Engineering (TCE) recently opened the Zeanah Engineering Complex, which is a new $129M building. This includes over 4,500 square feet of radiochemistry research laboratory space and a radiochemical teaching laboratory suite, where the lab of the successful candidate will be located in. TCE has continued to make investments in the radioisotopes research areas including a small animal PET/CT, a micro CT, and a high-frequency preclinical ultrasound system for small animals. This new hire will help expand partnerships with other TCE departments, local hospitals, veterinary centers, and/or businesses with interests in isotope use.

We are a commercial bachelor's degree program located in Nashville, TN. Our goal is to hire instructors who have experience in the classes we'll ask them to teach. Specialization is important so the students can learn best practices. Each course will meet once a week for 4 hours.
The curriculum is laid out for each course on a week-by-week basis in our education portal called Moodle. All of the grade tabulation is done electronically. Quizzes are embedded in the portal and graded automatically, so your out-of-classroom commitment is limited. What's important:

POSITION CONCEPT:
The ideal candidate must be able to encourage, motivate, and coach college students.
The Instructor/Faculty is the main-stay of the academic program and is a master teacher in their subject area. The Instructor must be an effective classroom manager. 6. Assist students progress by way of weekly quizzes, mid-term and final exams and by maintaining a current record of all grades including projects and presentations.
7. Counsel and advise students. Motivate students to do their best work.
8. Report all students with personal or psychological problems that may hinder academic performance or may result in potential harm to himself or others to the Student Services Director and College leadership.
9. Ensure student grading is completed on time and entered into the grade book consistently.
