The faculty is responsible for curricular development, innovation, and helping integrate pedagogy into the Health Science program. This includes creating novel signature assignments, working on assignment mapping in courses, course design work that supports continuing development, and implementation of curriculum as an instrument of teaching learning and assessment. Responsibilities
Teaching (60%) -
Instruct assigned didactic courses and internships
Maintain regular office hours and be available to provide help for students.
Prepare course syllabi, outlines, daily plans, and associated materials.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of courses including curriculum development and review.
Maintain necessary records such as program and class enrollments; plus, grades of student performance.
Demonstrate an ability to be creative in planning and implementation of Health Science objectives.
Service (20%) -
Support service to the university and community through outreach, promoting student engagement relevant to discipline.
Assist, advise, and lead students in professional and student organizations and related activities
Support service to the profession through engagement in relevant discipline projects and/or professional association engagement.
Assist new and continuing students in advisement capacity on courses and programs, with active participation in departmental and university recruitment activities.
Scholarship (20%) -
Maintain in-depth understanding in chosen field which includes participation in professional development and maintenance of valid training status per university policies.
Be technologically literate, knowledgeable, and innovative in the use of a variety of modern teaching technologies including the use of computers and multi-media in lectures, laboratories, and distance learning environments.
Pursue scholarship of teaching and research relevant to the profession discipline.
Student Success & Other Duties
Provide professional contributions to the Department, School, and University.
Assist with outreach activities as requested by the Chair.

Job Summary
Middle Georgia State University is seeking a candidate for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology for the School of Health and Natural Sciences in the Department of Natural Sciences to begin fall 2026. This position involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening, lower level and/ or upper-level biology courses. Travel from Macon campus to another campus (Warner Robins) will be required.
Responsibilities
This position involves teaching undergraduate courses and scholarship. All faculty are expected to assist in student recruitment, curriculum development, mentoring, and serving on departmental and university committees. Travel among our campuses will be required as needed. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes, online and/or hybrid courses.
