Job Duties
The School of Social Work, Undergraduate BSW Program at Norfolk State University seeks applications for an adjunct pool of Social Work faculty at the rank of Adjunct Instructor to begin on or about January 3, 2024.
Adjunct faculty members have responsibility for teaching undergraduate (BSW) courses in the areas of Field Education, Practice, Human Behavior, Policy and Research. They are expected to develop and maintain an academic professional course environment that supports the preparation and ethical standards required of generalist social work practitioners.
Adjunct Faculty Members' duties include the following:
1.Meeting all classes and posting and adhering to office hours.
2. Preparation of course for syllabi following the University guidelines for syllabi formatting.
3. Submission of syllabi according to university guidelines and distribution to students via Blackboard or in handout format on the first day of class.
4. Consistently following the course syllabi in assigned classes.
5. Developing and assessment o measurable learning outcomes for courses taught ensuring curriculum coherence and alignment.
6. Promote student development and academic achievement through tutoring, mentoring, referrals, support and engagement in curricular activities and service learning.
7. Maintain student grade/course records, respecting FERPA and other privacy standards consistent with agency and program accreditation standards.
8. Participate in curriculum review and revision, program effectiveness, and in monthly faculty meetings.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position will assist fisheries professionals, processors, wholesalers, and retail establishments to improve product quality, safety, nutritional aspects, and value; And serve as a key resource for national food safety/security efforts and regulatory requirements under the USDA's Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Job Duties
Norfolk State University's (NSU) Department of Nursing and Allied Health seeks experienced public health professionals to serve as primary instructional faculty or primarily research faculty for the MPH program. This program will have a focus on health equity, engage in scholarly activity, grantsmanship, professional development and service commensurate with faculty rank appointment. The School of Cybersecurity at ODU was established in 2020 and houses one of the largest cybersecurity programs in the nation with a total of about 1700 students. It represents an interdisciplinary effort bringing together over 40 faculty members with a wide range of expertise in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Cyber Law, Psychology, and Philosophy. The school offers a B.S. in Cybersecurity with majors in Cybersecurity, Cyber Operations, Cyber Risk Management, and AI for Cybersecurity and an M.S. in Cybersecurity with 4 concentrations including AI Security, AI for Cyber Defense, Cybersecurity Risk Management, and Cyber Conflict and Crime. A Ph.D. program is expected to launch in Fall 2026.Cybersecurity research is flourishing in the school.
