Yes Geisinger Primary Care South Wilkes-Barre is seeking an experienced board-certified Family Medicine, for a family medicine physician and Family Medicine Residency Core Faculty position, in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Job Duties:
Geisinger Primary Care South Wilkes-Barre is the home of the Kistler Family Medicine Residency program, a three-year dedicated family medicine residency clinic. Provides preventive care for newborns to elderly patients. Our physicians also provide chronic disease management care for patients with diabetes, heart disease and lung disease, just to mention a few.
At the clinic you will experience:
Nurse call center to assist with on-call workload
Nurse coordinators support high needs patients
Centralized prescription refill team
Interdisciplinary team and quick access to specialty services
Epic EMR - universal throughout Geisinger
In addition to treating all patient ages, the physician Core faculty member will:
Teach, evaluate, and provide formative feedback to residents.
Support the program leadership in developing, implementing, and assessing curriculum, mentoring residents, and assessing residents' progress.
Participate in non-clinical activities related to resident education and program administration. Examples of these nonclinical activities include, but are not limited to, interviewing and selecting resident applicants, providing didactic instruction, mentoring residents, simulation exercises, completing the annual ACGME Faculty Survey, and participating on the program's Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, and other GME committees.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Social Work or a DSW along with an MSW from a CSWE Accredited Program and 2-years post MSW practice experience within at least one social work field of practice, prior teaching experience in a CSWE accredited social work program, expertise in evidence-based social work practice, and evidence of ongoing scholarly work are required. The successful candidate is also expected to maintain a scholarly research agenda as well as make contributions to the culture of the University through service activities and culturally responsive pedagogy.
The position also requires working with other department faculty in developing programming activities and events, and with other social work program faculty in maintaining compliance with program accreditation standards. Additionally, holding a state social work practice license is required. The ability to work with diverse populations is also required.

This faculty member is expected to support curriculum design and delivery of neuroscience discipline content in the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM), Total Health Curriculum (THC). The THC is an 18-month integrated, active learning-based curriculum. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications. GCSOM was established in Scranton, PA, in 2008 through the grassroots efforts of visionary individuals who foresaw what a community-based medical school would bring to the region and worked to make it a reality. GCSOM is part of Geisinger College of Health Sciences and includes a School of Nursing, School of Graduate Education and a Research Institute distributed over six regional campuses. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will join a cohesive, collaborative and diverse multidisciplinary department that offers majors and minors in Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Social Work. The Criminal Justice program offers a comprehensive foundation of core courses, in addition to a wide variety of elective courses and opportunities for internships and experiential learning. Applicants must possess prior university-level teaching experience, and be able to teach both introductory survey courses, and upper-level major electives in an area of expertise. While all specialty areas will be considered, preference will be given to candidates who:
Demonstrate a strong background teaching courses related to the Courts/Judicial Process (to include areas such as bail, plea-bargaining, the trial & sentencing for example); OR topics of Social Inequalities, Crime and Justice (to include areas such as racial and ethnic disparities in crime and criminal justice, women in criminal justice, poverty and crime for example); AND an open secondary area of specialization in teaching and/or research.
The successful candidate will have a 4/4 teaching load and is also expected to maintain a focused scholarly agenda and provide service to the Department and University. The position also requires working with other department faculty in developing programming activities and events, as well as culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy.
