Job Description:
The Department of Neurology at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences (COMLS) is seeking Neurohospitalists, board certified or board eligible in Neurology, to join their expanding department. This opportunity offers a unique blend of academic and clinical responsibilities in an environment that supports innovation, education, and patient-centered care.
This position follows a 7 on / 7 off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance and the ability to focus on inpatient neurology service delivery within a high-acuity academic medical setting. The flagship academic medical center is a 794-bed facility and has been recognized by Healthgrades as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals. The hospital provides brand new, state-of-the-art inpatient facilities and serves as the region's largest acute care center. Outpatient services are delivered through the recently constructed Neurosciences Center, located conveniently across from the Toledo Hospital.
This role also offers a significant academic component. As part of the newly established and dynamic educational affiliation with a comprehensive healthcare network in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, the Neurohospitalist will have regular opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to the education of the next generation of healthcare leaders. Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient neurology consultation and care as part of a 7 on / 7 off Neurohospitalist team
Participate in clinical teaching of medical students, neurology residents, and fellows
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomes
Engage in academic activities including education, quality improvement, or clinical research
Attend departmental meetings and contribute to program development
Minimum Qualifications:
The faculty member must be a MD/DO who has successfully completed a residency in neurology as well as a fellowship (if applicable).
The candidate must be Board Certified or become Board Certified within 3 years of recruitment.
Must meet all the institutional requirements for appointment to a rank consistent with qualifications and institutional requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
Successful completion of a Neurology residency program
Current and unrestricted licensure in the State of Ohio (or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date)

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Teach Physical Therapy courses
