Duties & Responsibilities

The University of Arizona School of Music invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Music-Choral Conducting/Director of Choral Activities (full-time, 9-month, tenure track).
The successful candidate will be an artist as a choral conductor with a growing record of sustained excellence in choral performance, teaching, and scholarship, success providing leadership or administrative oversight within a choral program at the university level and ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff, and who will recruit and teach outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, create/maintain an active national profile as a choral conductor, scholar, and pedagogue, teach graduate choral conducting, choral literature, weekly lessons and seminar for MM and DMA students, and related duties as assigned by the Director of the school.

* Conduct Symphonic Choir, the premier choral ensemble of the School of Music.
* Teach graduate choral conducting, choral literature seminar, and related courses, including weekly lessons for MM and DMA students and a weekly seminar with the full conducting studio.
* Supervise the graduate degree program in choral conducting, including qualification, comprehensive, and dissertation examinations, and mentor students through degree completion and professional placement.
* Provide artistic and administrative leadership for the choral program and collaborate closely with other choral faculty in program planning, recruitment, outreach, experiential learning, research, scholarship and creative opportunities that benefit student learning outcomes and success.
* Maintain an active national profile as a choral conductor, scholar, and pedagogue.

The Cardiology Division has coronary intervention, complex electrophysiology, structural heart, and advanced imaging programs to compliment the Advanced Heart Failure Program. **Job Details:**
+ 1.0 FTE
+ Average daily patient load 4-6 per half day; outpatient load 4-6 per half day
+ Case/procedure types: Right heart catheterization, endomyocardial biopsies, Cardiomems insertion, transesophageal echocardiography
+ 10 weeks heart failure call, in equal rotation with clinical peers
+ If desired, participation or lead clinical translation research

The Department of Immunobiology invites applicants to apply for the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We are seeking investigators whose research program aligns with a department working to understand how the immune system and/or microbes influence the continuum of healthy and diseased states across the lifespan. We will consider individuals studying areas of microbial biology (viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi), immunology (normal & aberrant function of the immune system, microbial & cancer immune defense, and related topics), and those whose programs span these disciplines. * Establish or continue a successful, extramurally funded research program that will advance knowledge in the broad areas of immunobiology, as defined above.
* Develop and sustain productive interactions with biomedical investigators in the department, the College of Medicine-Tucson, and the University of Arizona.
* Promote and strengthen interdisciplinary training by contributing to graduate (M.Sc./Ph.D.) and/or medical (M.D.) education.
* Provide institutional service in the Department of Immunobiology.
* Additional duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* PhD and/or MD or equivalent degree.
* Peer-reviewed publications in nationally recognized journals and expertise in any field related to immunology, microbiology, parasitology, infectious diseases, and cancer biology.
* For Associate level or above, active funding in the above.
