Essential Job Functions
Key Function: Claims Management/Processes
Receives and responds to correspondences regarding claim files in a timely manner Identifies involved parties eligible for coverage, analyzes medical bill(s), lost wages, and/or other expense claims submitted for payment using a consistent and thorough review process Follows-up on claim to ensure all pertinent information is received to settle claim Reviews and analyzes all information; authorizes payment of claim within company guidelines Maintains current knowledge of new claim settlement procedures, state regulation, and policy changes Develops a comprehensive settlement strategy; utilizes appropriate medical, wage, and/or other expense claim investigation forms and form letters Maintains compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Regulatory and Statutory requirements, and/or Best Practices. Identifies potential fraud indicators and work closely with Special Investigations Unit when appropriate Investigates No-fault and Med pay losses, evaluates exposures
Key Function: Administrative Processes
Processes incoming mail and data through various systems and software Performs incoming and outgoing phone calls, taking recorded statements when appropriate; composes written correspondence Thoroughly documents injury related treatment, lost wages, and/or other expense history Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
Requires an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience Requires current Independent Adjust All Lines (06-20) with continuing education compliance Possesses strong customer service skills and related behaviors Requires attention to detail and the ability to multi-task Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Possesses strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Requires computer literacy and the ability to learn software applications Commitment to Acceptance's company values Able to lift 0-10 pounds without assistance

As a Flood Claims Adjuster, you will review property damage claim information from the Outside Adjuster, complete the investigation, and resolve the claim. As a Property Adjuster, you will review property damage claim information from the Outside Adjuster, complete the investigation, and resolve the claim. Conduct claim investigations including but not limited to recorded statements, securing public records, and analyzing report findings.Examine claim forms and other records to confirm coverage for loss or damage.Review and audit estimates received and settle claims within prescribed limits of authority. Issue payments or deny claim in a timely manner in accordance with policy conditions.Effectively negotiate settlements with contractors, adjusters, or any insured representative.Recognize and document subrogation and salvage opportunities and refer accordingly.May be given the more challenging and complex claim activity. What are the requirements needed for this position?High school diploma or GEDOne year claims adjusting experience Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate and enter data on multiple screens An Adjuster's license is required for states in which the Claims Adjuster performs their job. If you do not currently possess the appropriate license(s), Assurant will assist you in obtaining the license within a specified timeframe and cover any related expenses. Bilingual Spanish and/or Creole is a plus. What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?Associate/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to draft business-level communications when responding to customers Build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. Duties and Responsibilities
You will not climb on roofs or crawl under buildings. You will do a short presentation, identify damages using a virtual or physical walkthrough of a property, take some pictures of the damage and fill out paperwork using DocuSign. Zoom interview dates and time will be sent to you by email.

Compensation Range: $35,000 (part time) to $95,000+ (full time) based on average commission compensation
