Job Summary
The graduate assistant will be responsible for assisting the Director of the Reading Instruction, Support, and Education (RISE) Center with managing the center s inventory, working with undergraduate students, faculty, and staff in selecting instructional materials, etc.
Responsibilities
* Keep inventory updated in the Librarika Inventory System.
* Work with students, faculty, and staff in the RISE center.
* Keep RISE center inventory updated.
* Organize the RISE Center, e.g., receive new instructional materials, document materials that are checked out, checked in, used by professors, etc.
* Assist professors with instructional materials, e.g., bringing RISE Center resources to the classroom, printing, copying, etc.
* Participating in the book fair and other fund-raising activities.
* Research new RISE Center materials as needed.
* Keep RISE Center instructional materials and equipment updated.
* Manage and record visitors in the RISE Center who sign in and sign out instructional equipment and materials.
* Assisting in other activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at CSU taking at least six (6) credit hour courses.
* Must be willing to work 19 hours per week.
* Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other related programs.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
* Model appropriate behavior for students and the campus community (Dispositions).
* Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
* Ability to take initiative and offer suggestions and ideas.
Proposed Salary
The position comes with a tuition waiver except for $25, the student pays the other fees. The stipend is $2500 per semester.
