Job Description
The Director Cardiovascular Services is responsible for effectively managing the financial, service, and quality goals of cardiac and stroke telemetry units (i.e. 3B and 3C), the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department, and Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Establishes annual goals for areas of responsibility that support the strategic plan. Identifies business opportunities for providing new services or enhancing existing services. Coordinates with the clinical managers to develop and manage the capital and operating budgets for areas of responsibility. Works closely with Associate Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Nursing Officer to develop an effective recruitment and retention plan to ensure the staffing requirements are managed effectively. Collaborates with physicians, clinical managers, and other members of the health care team to promote optimum patient care. Understands and supports the professional practice of nursing.

Qualifications
Masters in Nursing or related field required.
Minimum three years of progressive management experience.
Experience managing acute care inpatient units.
Clinical practice background in cardiovascular nursing preferred.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Current and valid California RN license.
Certification in Clinical Specialty or Nurse Executive Advanced highly preferred.

Nursing Operations
• Maintains operational targets within the fiscal and productivity organizational guidelines through routine data monitoring for the assigned areas, adjusting, staffing, supplies or capital expenditures to budgeted Units of Service

• Works in collaboration with finance and Nursing Leaders to meet budgeted labor cost including overtime and premium pay

Personnel Management & Leadership
• Provides clinical and operational leadership to assigned areas; demonstrates a commitment to a teamwork philosophy and a positive problem-solving approach in resolving concerns or issues with team, customers, and/or medical staff
• Direct personnel actions related to areas of responsibility including, but not limited to hiring, performance management, staff development, disciplinary action, etc. Oversee recruitment and performance management for nursing leaders within scope of responsibility

Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required)
• Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Education, or health related field (required)
• DNP or PhD (preferred)
Experience:
• A minimum of seven (7) years related professional experience in critical care, including four (4) years in a leadership capacity-portfolio of increasing project responsibility & program development will be considered in lieu of traditional management history (required)
• Proven ability to direct and/or facilitate the work effort of peers and subordinates through teamwork and team building (required)
