Educate! administrator assistant/teacher's assistant job description

We are in need of a highly organized, high-energy, and patient team member.

The Administrative Assistant supports the Center Directors in scheduling appointments, students, teachers, and handles reception functions and student activities.

Center hours range from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

We are also open in the summer all day, so hours can begin at 9:00 am. (Part-time weekly hours average between 10-20 hours per week).

Edina Public Schools is currently accepting applicants for a 9 month Classification G -Teacher Administrative Assistant at Cornelia Elementary. Cornelia Elementary School appreciates and serves students, families and staff with diverse backgrounds. Experience with and appreciation of students and staff from racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse backgrounds is desired along with an understanding of student's unique needs. Individuals who are fluent in multiple languages are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will provide support to the main office. This position is an 8 hour/day, 195-day school term employee.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides clerical and project assistance to employees. Makes students, employees, and visitors welcome in the office. Assists students, employees, and visitors with inquiries regarding general information and refers questions to the appropriate person when needed. Answers telephones, reviews voice mail messages and correspondence, and responds appropriately. Completes general office duties as directed. Monitors and maintains accurate records, databases, and other documents. Provides accurate data with confidentiality from maintained documents. Processes incoming mail, outgoing mail, school orders, and other correspondence. Completes bulk mailings when needed. Assists with school functions and their preparation. Prepares and monitors departmental deposits, invoices, and financial records. Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills. Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office products. Interest in working in a school district environment. Knowledge of district and school policies and procedures. Basic knowledge of bookkeeping procedures. Detail-oriented with proven ability to be consistently accurate. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to effectively communicate with students, employees, and visitors. Ability to effectively collaborate with employees. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


Preferred Qualification:
Bilingual Strongly Preferred

Work Schedule:

Salary:


Pursuant to the Edina Professional Association of Support Staff (EPASS) Collective Bargaining Agreement, this position has a starting monthly salary of $3,193.00 and a competitive benefits package.
