Job Description: Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation's top contractors, is recruiting for an experienced Laborer. The role of Laborer is to assist in moving and installing material for Carpenters, Operators, Masons, and other skilled trades in the daily process of construction. Because safety is paramount to AP and embedded into everything we do, all team members are responsible for working safely within our Incident and Injury Free culture. Responsibilities: Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture. Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of care and concern for each team member in the workplace. Consistently communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace. Ensure adherence to processes and procedures that support an IIF culture. Comply with all company safety requirements and policies. Prep construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards. Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel. Supply tools and materials to different areas of the work site as directed by the Foreman, Superintendent, or trades. Plan ahead, inventory, and request materials. Load and unload supplies and materials. Operate a pallet jack and a partner saw. Signal operators of equipment to facilitate movement of material. Routinely operate a bobcat and forklift for various material handling. Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work site on a daily basis. Assist with installing formwork and pouring concrete. Mix mortar and grout. Mop, brush, or spread compounds over surfaces for protection or to seal. Erect and dismantle scaffolding following company safety guidelines. Work at heights and climb form systems for pouring concrete while assisting Carpenters and other trades. Assist Carpenters, Operators, Masons, and other skilled labor as needed. Routinely construct and maintain temporary openings, protect construction finishes, daily interior and exterior cleaning, and debris removal. Inspect work-in-progress to ensure that it conforms to the specifications, construction schedules, and quality standards as outlined in AP's quality management programs. Assure that workmanship is of the highest quality. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: History of experience and proven results including: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training. Ability to properly lift, carry, push, rake, shovel, and move materials, supplies, tools, and ladders weighing up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis and occasionally more than 100 pounds throughout the day. Physical agility to stand, walk, climb ladders and/or formwork, kneel, crouch down, twist, and reach on a constant basis throughout the day. Experience using hand tools such as chippers and grinders and ability to measure correctly. Ability to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away. Willingness to work in various (sometimes extreme) climate conditions. Demonstrated ability to proactively resolve construction issues. Strong communication skills (oral, written, and listening) including ability to follow directions and ask questions. Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards. This position will manage and control assigned projects, including directing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, work quality, and trade contractor and supplier coordination while working in conjunction with the Project Manager to lead the project team. Work closely with the owner and design team. Project scopes are generally less than $75 million or occasionally designated components on large, complex projects. Job Description: Position Summary Coordinate and direct the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Technology systems on a project from design coordination through completion and close out. Project scopes are generally less than $50 million for one system on a large, complex project. Primary Responsibilities: Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of care and concern for each team member in the workplace. Consistently communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace. Ensure adherence to processes and procedures that support an IIF culture. Comply with all company safety requirements and policies. Provide direction throughout a project to ensure timely and quality results. Become a trusted partner with our clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams by advocating for the best interests of the project. Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology work, including supervision of the design and progress of the project. Coordinate the project with local, city, state, and county codes and officials. c. Ensure quality inspections, audits, and testing are conducted with the utmost integrity, scheduled in a timely fashion, and with proper resources. Provide technical guidance to Superintendents and Project Managers. Prepare accurate quantity surveys and create MEP price checks. Review project plans for constructability and cost feasibility. Assist with project risk assessments and identify potential service outages/interruptions. Read and comprehend drawings and specifications and anticipate items not clearly depicted. Collaborate with the Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and project teams to help resolve MEP issues prior to or during construction. Assist with review of RFIs, Submittals, and Change Order Requests at the request of the project team. Build and facilitate collaborative team processes among project participants. Participate in meetings with project partners to ensure project goals are reflected with complete and coordinated MEP systems in the project pricing. Foster subcontractor interest in the assigned projects for budgeting support and proposal coverage. Help develop RFP language and work with MEP subcontractors to ensure proposals received are complete and comparable to support subcontractor selection. Work closely with client/owner and the project team to ensure MEP systems are installed and perform as expected. Work with project and preconstruction team to coordinate overlapping scopes of work between MEP trade partners. Coordinate with commissioning agent and MEP trade partners to establish start-up and commissioning schedule. Other duties as assigned. Job Description: Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation's top contractors, is recruiting for an Assistant Estimator. This position provides detailed conceptual estimates from pre-construction schematic and design documents and detailed construction estimates from construction plans and specifications. Project scopes are generally less than $5 million or for one component on a large, complex project. Because safety is paramount to AP and embedded into everything we do, all team members are responsible for working safely within our Incident and Injury Free culture. Responsibilities: * Take personal responsibility for working safely within an incident and injury free culture * Prepare bids, conceptual cost models, and budgets; perform analyses of construction documents and project program requirements for assigned project scopes. * Monitor field production to establish data base pricing; quantify bid take-offs. * Complete pricing and quantity take-offs for scopes of work; review pricing and take-offs prior to pre-bids; set up bid spreadsheets. * Review plans and specs; assemble accurate general conditions costs. * Prepare documents for bid day including owner bid docs, insurance/bonding, schedules, timeframes, etc. * Prepare back-up documentation. * Participate in the buyout process. * Create and organize scope comparisons of subcontractor and vendor bids. * Provide technical support on constructability, scheduling, phasing, and staffing. * Review plans and specs; understand and apply constructability of the project to the estimate format and costing; discuss and establish bid strategies, concerns, and advantages. * Collaborate with Senior Estimators to set goals for the assigned area related to percentage of award, accuracy of takeoffs, completeness of scopes, coverage, etc. * Identify and recommend functional procedure and policy changes. * Make recommendations about the selection of subcontractors upon notice of award. * Build subcontractor and supplier relationships; facilitate bids and presentations. * Participate in defining work scopes for subcontractors; define major or priority subcontractors and suppliers. * Solicit new subcontractors and develop subcontractor relationships. * Build and facilitate collaborative team processes among project participants. * Attend pre-construction proposals. * Participate in assigned project bid closings. * Correspond with design teams and engineers during the bid process. * Attend and participate in industry and subcontractor events. * Other duties as assigned. Requirements: * History of experience and proven results including: * Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field equivalent and successful completion of a construction industry internship or 2+ years' of related construction experience or completion of an Associate degree and 3+ years of related experience. * Experience in the areas of design, estimating, and or field supervision preferred. * General knowledge of estimating principles/policies. * Proficient in detailed estimate organization and take-off including being well versed in conceptual estimating/schematic estimating. * Proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with estimating software a plus. * Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards * Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work. * Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) in order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences. * Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities simultaneously under time constraints. * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful and lasting relationships.
