The General Laborer is responsible for assisting the Operators in moving dirt or rock by cleaning and preparing job sites, reading and checking grade, operating hand and power tools, and everything else needed to ensure safe operation and execution of the job. Total Compensation $18.00 to $23.00 per hour with potential for overtime Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Cleaning and preparing a job site, including the removal of debris, garbage, trees, etc. * Loading and unloading building materials. * Operating a variety of tools and machines such as shovel, blowtorches, jackhammers, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment. * Caring for tools used on job sites and keeping them in safe and clean working order. * Safely operating equipment and vehicles as needed. * Understanding and carrying out instructions. * Maintaining records. * Maintaining positive working relationships. * Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Dependability and reliability with a good attendance record and the willingness and ability to adapt to scheduling needs as required to accommodate company project needs * Extremely self-motivated with the ability to take the lead on assignments as well as follow instructions and work within parameters of excellency established by leadership. * Good safety history and willingness to engage and contribute to ongoing safe work practices, including the use of PPE, with the ability to safely perform physical and manual work such as digging, shoveling, and operating power tools. * Top-notch communication skills, including the ability to effectively, respectfully, and positively interact with supervisors, team members, and subcontractors. Education and/or Experience * Preferred: High School diploma or GED.
