Job Description:
The role of Laborer is to assist in moving and installing material for Carpenters, Operators, Masons, and other skilled trades in the daily process of construction.
Because safety is paramount to AP and embedded into everything we do, all team members are responsible for working safely within our Incident and Injury Free culture.
Responsibilities:
Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of care and concern for each team member in the workplace.
Consistently communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace.
Ensure adherence to processes and procedures that support an IIF culture.
Comply with all company safety requirements and policies.
Prep construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards. Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel.
Supply tools and materials to different areas of the work site as directed by the Foreman, Superintendent, or trades. Plan ahead, inventory, and request materials. Load and unload supplies and materials.
Operate a pallet jack and a partner saw. Signal operators of equipment to facilitate movement of material. Routinely operate a bobcat and forklift for various material handling.
Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work site on a daily basis.
Assist with installing formwork and pouring concrete. Mix mortar and grout. Mop, brush, or spread compounds over surfaces for protection or to seal.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding following company safety guidelines.
Work at heights and climb form systems for pouring concrete while assisting Carpenters and other trades.
Assist Carpenters, Operators, Masons, and other skilled labor as needed.
Routinely construct and maintain temporary openings, protect construction finishes, daily interior and exterior cleaning, and debris removal.
Inspect work-in-progress to ensure that it conforms to the specifications, construction schedules, and quality standards as outlined in AP's quality management programs.
Assure that workmanship is of the highest quality.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
History of experience and proven results including:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
Ability to properly lift, carry, push, rake, shovel, and move materials, supplies, tools, and ladders weighing up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis and occasionally more than 100 pounds throughout the day.
Physical agility to stand, walk, climb ladders and/or formwork, kneel, crouch down, twist, and reach on a constant basis throughout the day.
Experience using hand tools such as chippers and grinders and ability to measure correctly.
Ability to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away.
Willingness to work in various (sometimes extreme) climate conditions.
Demonstrated ability to proactively resolve construction issues.
Strong communication skills (oral, written, and listening) including ability to follow directions and ask questions.
Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.

Job Description:
The Assistant Quality Manager is responsible for the implementation and oversight of AP's Quality processes and procedures on one or more projects while coordinating with the project team. The Assistant Quality Manager is responsible for reporting project progress and project needs to the project team, Quality Manager, and the Region's Senior Quality Manager.
Responsibilities:
Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
Monitor and manage Quality related activities to contract quality requirements for one of more projects.
Interact with client/owner, agencies, subcontractors, and internal staff on quality related matters including performance activities such as inspections, observations, program setup, program planning and program execution.
Educate the owner and project team about quality requirements and monitoring during the project.
Review project plans and specifications for quality requirements.
Verify that all internal and external project inspections and observations are in compliance to the contract documents by using project quality staff or performing a direct review.
Review inspection, compliance testing and remediation.
Participate in root cause analyses for complex issues.
Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance.
Participate in the development and implementation of project quality plans.
Engage in the planning, development, and implementation of the Three Phase process on High-Risk Definable Features of Work.
Ensure quality program initiatives are implemented at the project level.
Make certain assigned project's quality inspections, observations, and testing are in conformance with contract documents, are properly documented, and utilize proper resources.
Perform periodic assessments and notify the project management team of any deviations from the quality plan as well as any known quality issues.
Participate in the submittal review process to ensure conformance to the contract documents.
Collaborate with other quality staff and project staff.
Assist in training project teams on the use of current software programs. Specifically, in the use of Procore.
Work with project teams to assist in pre-bid and post bid requirements for project bidders.
Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and sub-contractor documentation submittals.
Coordinate all site Quality activities with project site quality staff or perform all quality functions if appointed project's quality champion.

Requirements:
History of experience and proven results including:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field and 4+ years of quality control and quality assurance experience over a wide range of project sizes and types.
Formal QA/QC training and certification preferred.
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Construction Quality Management (CQM-C) certification preferred.
Formal building envelope commissioning training preferred. Understanding and utilization of the following industry standards.
NIBS (National Institute of Building Sciences) Guideline 3-2013 Building Enclosure Commissioning Process.

Summary

Job Description:
The role of Operator will operate several types of power equipment such as hoists, cranes, forklifts, and trucks to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move equipment or materials.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of care and concern for each team member in the workplace.
Consistently communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace.
Ensure adherence to processes and procedures that support an IIF culture.
Comply with all company safety requirements and policies.
Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel using power equipment.
Supply tools and materials to different areas of the work site as directed by the trades.
Inventory and organize equipment and materials, including properly documenting equipment, tools, and material logs/reporting.
Inspect, clean, and maintain power equipment on a daily basis.
Observe load rigging and determine the safety of the load or lift.
Position forks or lifting device and move the item by sight or according to signals (verbal or hand) from a rigger.
Inspect work-in-progress to ensure that it conforms to the specifications, construction schedules, and quality standards as outlined in AP's quality management program.
Assure that workmanship is of the highest quality.

Candidate Qualifications:
History of experience and proven results including:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
CCO certification as required.
CCO certification for 150 ton crawler crane.
Experience operating heavy equipment such as hoists, cranes, forklifts, and trucks.
Ability to obtain a forklift certification. Commercial driver's license preferred.
Physical agility to climb in and out of and operate heavy equipment throughout the day.
Ability to lift, load, and move equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away.
Willingness to work in various (sometimes extreme) climate conditions.
Demonstrated ability to proactively resolve construction issues.
Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.

This role will provide departmental administrative support in gathering, calculating, and compiling data for use in creating project and proposal estimates. Responsibilities:

The estimator will provide detailed conceptual estimates from pre-construction schematic and design documents and detailed construction estimates from construction plans and specifications. Project scopes are generally less than $50 million or for designated components on large, complex projects.
Responsibilities:
Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
Prepare bids, conceptual cost models, and budgets; perform quantitative analyses of construction documents and project program requirements for projects assigned.
Monitor field production to establish data base pricing. Quantify bid take-offs.
Complete pricing and quantify take-offs for scopes of work and assigned bids. Review pricing and take-offs prior to pre-bids. Set up bid spreadsheets.
Review plans and specs. Assemble accurate general conditions costs.
Prepare documents for bid day including owner bid docs, insurance/bonding, schedules, timeframes, etc.
Create and organize scope comparisons of subcontractor and vendor bids.
Prepare back-up documentation.
Participate in the buyout process.
Provide technical guidance on constructability, schedule, phasing, and staffing.

The Project Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and final delivery of diverse heavy civil infrastructure projects at Ames Construction. This leadership position organizes and directs all aspects of the construction lifecycle to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert, well-versed in all construction methodologies, specialized equipment, and safety procedures unique to heavy highway projects (e.g., earthwork, paving, bridge construction). The role requires coordinating a multi-disciplinary team of superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel to drive operational excellence and deliver high-quality results.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
* Instill and enforce safety as a top priority. Ensure that all local, state, and national building codes, regulations, and safety precautions are identified, communicated, and followed.
* Oversee all phases of the construction lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon plans, budgets, and timelines.
* Manage and support a project team including Project Engineers, Superintendents, Construction Managers, and other project staff, overseeing their work and coordinating equipment and staff needs with regional and on-site management.
* Build and maintain relationships with owners, clients, and owner representatives. Communicate project needs and deliver periodic progress reports, serving as the primary project representative at meetings, job walks, and other correspondence.
* Develop and adhere to the project budget. Track and report project progress and budgets with leadership, process change orders and provide monthly billings and cash flow projections.
* Obtain all necessary regulations and permits. Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget, and/or schedule.
* Use scheduling software to update schedules, track progress, document project progression, and assist with updating monthly schedules.
* Write and submit necessary documentation, including testing and inspection logs, quality assurance reports, and punch lists.
* Order necessary supplies, tools, and equipment.
* Be familiar with all aspects of the project and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in construction science and management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related degree
* A minimum of five (5) years of construction management experience in heavy civil construction
* In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles
* Proficient computer skills, especially with MS Office suite and construction/project management software
* OSHA 30-Hour certification
* Excellent organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and budgeting skills
* Must have a valid Driver's License
Working Conditions
* Travel - Can be required with this position within the United States. This project is located in the Central Office Region, must be willing to travel and stay at site location throughout the central region.
* Construction Site Environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Potentially exposed to high noise levels.
* Office Environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
