Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). * 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing roles. * Strong knowledge of SAFe Agile framework and Agile quality practices. * Proven experience in metrics-driven quality improvement and reporting. * Excellent communication and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration. * Proficient in test management tools, defect tracking systems, and automation frameworks. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Job Summary The Software/Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining embedded Linux systems and firmware for custom hardware platforms. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our embedded solutions. Reporting to the Embedded Systems Manager, the engineer will contribute to the success of the organization by delivering robust and secure firmware and kernel-level software. Duties and Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux distributions tailored to custom hardware platforms. * Modify and optimize the Linux kernel, including device drivers and board support packages (BSPs). * Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug hardware/software integration issues. * Develop and maintain firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors. * Implement and maintain secure boot, OTA updates, and system diagnostics. * Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables. * Work closely with cross-functional teams including QA, product management, and manufacturing. * Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues in embedded environments. * Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in embedded systems. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. * 5+ years of experience in Linux distribution build systems (e.g., Yocto, Buildroot). * Strong experience in Linux kernel development and device driver integration. * Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems. * Experience with firmware development for ARM-based microcontrollers. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with secure boot, U-Boot, and trusted execution environments. * Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level debugging tools. * Knowledge of networking protocols and wireless communication (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi). * Experience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded software.
