Andy joined the company in January 2017 and is responsible for revenue strategy, customer operations and sales performance for Advance Local. His focus not only includes supporting local sales execution, but also includes building diversified revenue streams from key verticals such as automotive, retail, real estate, healthcare and education.

He also serves as President of ZeroSum, Advance Local’s digital automotive advertising and SaaS company. In this capacity, he supports all business functions focused on building a differentiated, nationwide software platform and automotive company. This business operates in all 50 states and provides services to automotive manufacturers, regional dealer associations and local automotive dealerships.

Prior to Advance Local, Andy served as YP’s (the Yellow Pages) SVP of Sales where he managed and led a cross-functional 750+ person sales organization across 20 markets.

Previously, Andy held progressive leadership positions at Media General, including Head of Digital Media and CRO across its Broadcast, Digital and Publishing businesses which served 50+ markets across the country.

Andy holds a BS from James Madison University and an MBA-Finance from Seton Hall University.

Along the way, we’ve converted millions of weather checkers into video watchers. They are our most engaged and most profitable users. In addition to breaking weather news we produce outdoor lifestyle content including science, nature, travel and health.

We also launched a line of docs that covers the intersection of climate, weather and the human experience. Our work has won more than 60 awards including three Emmys, a Polk, an IRE medal, three SPJ prizes, six Editor and Publisher awards, National Press Club, two Murrows and a Loeb.

Today, we are building AI-driven personalization, social video experiences for mobile apps and a suite of premium subscription offerings.

Prior to The Weather Channel, I had executive editor roles at Huffington Post, AOL and CBSNews.com and produced television for CBS News. I have reported from Iran, India, Vietnam and America. My work has appeared on the NYTimes.com, PBS and others.

Peter was named Chief Innovation Officer in January 2018. He and his product, technology, content and data insights teams lead product development and provide strategic direction on content initiatives with a focus on enhancing user experience and monetization opportunities. They collaborate across Advance Local to deliver powerful and essential solutions for the communities and customers we serve.

Peter also oversees the Advance Alpha Group, a media incubator focused on new ideas, experimental technology and rapid prototyping to expand the company’s reach into new markets and product spaces. The group’s creations include Thetylt.com, Elsewhere and Subtext.

Previously, Peter served as President of Advance Digital, a former affiliate of Advance Local. Advance Digital was a leading creator of digital news and information products that delivered multi-platform solutions for consumers and advertisers in markets across the United States, in alliance with Advance Local’s media groups.

Peter is an advisory board member of MatchCraft, a global provider of search engine marketing (SEM) technology that enables large-scale sales organizations to provision local SEM solutions for customers. He has also served on the boards of Wanderful Media, Chrome Data Corporation and Real Media.

Prior to Advance, Peter held sales leadership roles at Hearst Magazines and The Village Voice.
