Duties include coordinating between our engineering teams and international aviation regulatory bodies, such as the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other National Aviation Authorities to develop approved certification documentation demonstrating compliance to all designs and regulatory requirements in support of Type Certification (TC), changes to TC and Continued Airworthiness of the fleet. This role requires a deep understanding of aviation regulations and certification processes, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure our aircraft are safe and compliant across all stages of their lifecycle. * **Autonomously develop and manage certification plans for large aircraft programs, including new design changes and continued/continuing airworthiness. Work closely with a wide range of internal teams, including design engineers, stress analysts, vendors and design office specialists, to gather the data needed for certification. * * * Provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious through application of experience and creativity. * * * Manage varied, multi-ATA and multi-program, subject projects in accordance with business needs and customers' expectations, while ensuring compliance with certification requirements and DOA processes. * * * Support acceptance of individual aircraft by customers and their local authorities. * **Qualified Experience and Training** **Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) * **Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline. * * * Minimum twenty (20) years total experience in Engineering and/or Airworthiness / Certification roles. * **Familiar with large aircraft operations. * **Previous ODA Unit Member, FAA DER, EASA CVE/DAE. * **Travel Required** * * 5% Domestic and International. * **Excellent communication and negotiation skills in challenging situations including those customer facing. * * * Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical aircraft topics. * * * Able to be flexible with working shifts. * * * Experience complying with regulatory authorities of various countries and distinguishing the similarities and differences. * * * Experience with the Airbus fleet and/or products. * **Familiar with aircraft certification and approvals of documents for TC and aircraft related modifications. * * * Experience with Configuration Management of complex products. * **Required Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages)** * * Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written). * * * Displays model writing skills for others to emulate. * * * Understands technical language associated with large aircraft. * **Preferred Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages)** * * Conversational French and/or German. * **Strong computer background, including MS Excel and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) * **Decision making includes personal development and complex to high impact operational tasks. * **Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
