Position Overview:
As part of the talented Brunswick Boat Group (BBG) Technology Center team, you will be responsible for the advancedengineering and development of fiberglass, mechanical, electrical, laminate, and structural system designs for the Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center. This will require the use of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to generate 3D surface models for liners, decks, and small parts and strong competency with complex mechanism development.

Essential Functions:
+ Generate 3D surface models of decks, liners, and small parts to be utilized for 5-axis milling and tooling design
+ Serve as the engineering lead during design development
+ Complete engineering of assigned areas of a boat including fiberglass design, purchased parts and hardware development, mechanical system/hose routing, electrical layout, etc.
+ Design, engineer, and validate complex hinges and mechanisms for supplier fabrication using 3D models and 2D specification drawings
+ Support industrial design with space-claim analysis and feasibility studies
+ Provide accurate material and component specification for the sourcing of new components
+ Provide cost analysis to industrial design and program management on new concepts prior to engineering start
+ Work with suppliers on the development of new systems and components to ensure continuous improvement in the quality and value of our boats systems
+ Ensure that new designs and components meet the cost, performance, and functional requirements of the new and enhancement boat programs
+ Review and approve engineering drawings and assembly prints for new boat programs
+ Participate in manufacturing integration activities to ensure successful launches of new products and technologies as well as continuous improvement activities
+ Ensure that designs have been fully validated and that they meet necessary system specifications and performance requirements
+ Establish acceptance criteria with program management for new concepts and designs
+ Utilize warranty data to identify issues related to mechanical systems for mitigation purposes
+ Provide technical evaluations and reports on issues for customer service and field problems
+ Ensure compliance with all necessary industry, domestic, and international government regulations
+ Ensure that all materials used in the manufacture of finished products have been tested and approved for quality and reliability
+ Ensure timely and adequate completion of all applicable phases of project
+ Apply relevant voice of the customer and systems engineering input to design in Phase 2
+ Must be willing to travel (minimum 10%)

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related discipline
+ Consideration will be given for candidates with significant work experience in lieu of education requirements
+ 3-5+ years experience in marine product design required with knowledge of manufacturing/production processes.
+ Computer Aided Design experience required (Siemens NX preferred and/or experience with SolidWorks, Catia, Creo or Pro-E)
+ Excellent 3-D solid and free-surface modelling skills required
+ Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis
+ Proficient understanding of component and assembly interactions at the system level
+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects tasks and provide direction to engineering and product assembly teams.
+ Boating experience is desired
+ Experience with developing and implementing complex mechanisms used in customer facing products
+ Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is desired
+ Familiarity with PFEMA and DFEMA is desired
+ Commitment to quality and standards that are accepted by the industry
+ Must interface well with other employees and departments throughout Brunswick as well as outside vendors, dealers and retail customers
+ Must be able to work extra hours required to assume timely completion of critical projects

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.

Position Overview:
The purpose of this position is to develop processes for new product manufacturing, optimize existing processes and products, and support cost reduction initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop/improve manufacturing processes through research, design and modification of manufacturing methods/equipment.
* Create/revise documentation for assembly and test processes.
* Design and fabricate fixtures and tools for assembly and test processes.

They will collaborate closely with other process owners for back-end post-processing to ensure satisfactory integration of under bump metallization and sphere drop processes into overall product flows for both production parts, as well as new process and product development activities.

The position will demand large amounts of time working in a cleanroom environment. Some lifting and standing will be required.

Primary metals team leader responsible for all PVD and plasma clean processes, development, and associated metrology. The role will require experience with production deployment across a broad range of tool sets, processes, and wafer sizes.

Identify, resolve issues, and improve these plating processes to provide maximum quality and process availability.
Ensure all metal equipment is properly qualified and calibrated.
Process Development:
Define and optimize PVD thin films, plasma cleans, dry etching(metal etch), sphere drop, and redistribution layers for bumping processes in support of new technologies.
Develop new technologies across the portfolio of emerging technologies in semiconductor wafer-level interconnect manufacturing on multiple wafer sizes.
Quality Control:
Execute strategic projects for improvement of sustaining operations through monitoring statistical process control (SPC) charts and disposition of out-of-spec material.
Support process control, planning, safety, and quality organizations to ensure the equipment meets cost, quality, safety, and reliability metrics.
Use Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to assess and mitigate risk for critical processes, process modules, and tools.
Problem-Solving:
Drive process improvements for volume manufacturing using statistical tools, DOE techniques, data-driven decision making, and systematic problem-solving skills.

BS Degree in Materials Science, or a related STEM field with a minimum of (5) years of Semiconductor Metals (PVD) and/or Alloys experience, or (3) years with a master's, or (0) years with a PhD
Proficiency in semiconductor PVD process control and process development
Proficiency in process set-up, optimization, and troubleshooting for PVD, plasma clean, and bumping toolsets
Strong understanding of vacuum technology, thin-film stress, adhesion, uniformity, and contamination control
Experience with under bump metallurgy, and optimizing plasma parameters (RF power, gas chemistry, pressure, bias, time) to achieve residue-free surfaces.
Experience fabricating a wide variety of interconnect technologies and metals, including lead and lead-free solders and other metal systems.
Experience in a production manufacturing environment

Interface with Design Engineering team regarding process capabilities, materials, and review new products to ensure they meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM) criteria;
Identify, facilitate, and prioritize opportunities for process improvements;

Job Qualifications:
BSME or equivalent 4 year technical degree or 4-6 years of combined education and experience
3 years of related manufacturing experience
CAD, Solid works software courses, and/or experience
PADS, CAM350 software knowledge is a plus.
Job Skills:
Fast technical document generation/modification CAD, Excel, (PCB software is a plus).
Design tool/fixtures with minimal guidance.
Knowledge of Mil-PRF-38535 / Mil-PRF-38534 in military standards a plus.
Knowledge of Mil-STD-883 / Mil-STD-750 in test methods with related equipment (wire bond, die attach, & furnace) a plus.
Knowledge or experience with Automatic assembly equipment for Wire bond, Die attach a plus
Knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing a plus.
Self-motivated with the ability to align priorities in accordance with business goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Team player who enjoys working with different disciplines.
SMT Process development in both leaded and lead free assemblies.
