LHH is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a well-established manufacturing company in the Greater Indianapolis Area. This position will be responsible for supporting process improvement, equipment optimization, and product quality initiatives within a precision-driven production environment. This is a full-time, Direct Hire permanent role with consistent daytime hours and long-term growth potential.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM (flexibility available)
Compensation: $70,000-$85,000 annually (may be negotiable based on experience)

About the Role
This Manufacturing Engineer will play a hands-on role in driving operational efficiency, supporting new product introductions, and improving manufacturing processes across the facility. The position partners closely with Production, Engineering, and external vendors to enhance throughput, quality, and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct time studies, develop routings, and optimize shop floor layouts
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Support new product launches and assist with testing equipment and designs
• Act as a liaison between Production and Engineering to improve manufacturability
• Manage vendors and support equipment relocations and upgrades
• Develop RFQs for new equipment and turnkey installations
• Drive LEAN initiatives and structured problem-solving efforts
• Build and maintain TPM systems focused on maximizing uptime
• Support programming and integration of robotics and shop floor systems
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

The Tooling Engineer works closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Understand the fundamentals of cold forming, heading and rolling machines.
Preform failure analysis and implement countermeasures on tooling when life ended prematurely
Repair critical tooling: tear down, measure, replace components, rebuild and return to machine
Manage tooling projects from concept through production, including design changes, supplier coordination, testing, and approval.
Assist material changes, prototypes, and validating new tooling for new parts, referred to as Production Order Sheets (POS)
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Learn to operate the equipment and assist production team members in their training.
Provide technical training and support to operators and maintenance personnel.
Ensure all tooling meets design specifications, safety standards, and production requirements.

The Dry External Manufacturing (DRY-EM) organization works with contract manufacturers (CMs) to increase packaging capacity for Lilly products.
The Packaging Engineer role in the DRY-EM will be responsible of assuring that the printed packaging materials (PPMs) used by the CMs meet the technical requirements of the packaging lines and also Lilly Standards.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Management of layouts: templates with the graphic and technical elements to ensure proper artworks development and function on the packaging line.
Maintenance of the BLUE metadata for the layouts and its connection with the rest of the components of the PPM specification (artworks and specifications) in the system.
Owner of the Qualified Format List (QFL), key document for artworks development with regional groups.
Work with Global Packaging during the first's steps of a CM initiation to make sure that DRY-EM and/or Global layouts are identified or developed, so that artworks can be developed in a timely manner.
Be involved in testing activities and qualifications at the CMs.
Owner of the Site Technical Changes (STCs) requested by the CMs, coordinating the PPMs changes with the CM, global packaging and regulatory groups, PPD teams and DRY-EM.
Work closely with the Packaging Coordinator and Specification Coordinator for the correct PPM development.
Participate in the materials specifications management with the Specification Coordinator (back up for specifications activities).
Member of the Specifications Change Review Board (sCRB), proposing changes to global layouts if needed.
Have a holistic view of all PPM projects ongoing for the DRY-EM.
Lead /support packaging investigations as need it withing the DRY-EM network ,
Lead/ support packaging projects including but not limited to digital transformation as part of continues improvement.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or related field with experience in PPM management or other similar technical background.
