The Director of Revenue Cycle Management oversees and manages the RCM functions by providing leadership, organizational, and strategic direction to drive efficient, accurate, and compliant RCM billing and collections activities to maximize reimbursement in a centralized billing environment at the Austin headquarters. Duties and Responsibilities: · Plans, develops, and implements programs, projects, strategies, processes, and technology to continuously improve and manage the revenue cycle and increase profitability. · Develops and maintains department dashboards and distributes reports to the appropriate audience. This includes departmental KPIs and reports, executive dashboards, staff productivity, and quality reports, etc. · Leverages the Experian Health tool to maximize the value to the RCM process. · Provides data driven insights and actionable information to drive improvement, increase efficiency, and implement best practices in revenue cycle operations. · Reports on daily operational statistics as requested by leadership, key findings, insights and recommendations to respective counterparts. · Analyzes data for insights into claims management, and for special prevention and denials management projects. Collaborates with nursing managers and team members to develop operating room and recovery room standards of care, job descriptions, performance standards, orientation programs, continuing education programs and evaluation tools b. Provides for continuing education, assuring accurate record keeping for personnel files, state licensing and accreditation surveys c. Monitors and evaluates the performance of staff members against established performance standards and professional goals d. Reviews all performance evaluations of the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit staff e. Develops, implements and evaluates nurse recruitment and retention program that reflects the staffing needs of the ASC f. Hires, disciplines, evaluates and terminates staff members as appropriate g. Develops policies, procedures and positions to efficiently coordinate personnel in the ASC 3. Collaborates with the Administrator in the development of the clinical budgets for the ASC, monitoring expenses and reporting of variances a. Develops, implements and evaluates cost-control policies and procedures, and employs corrective action plans for cost-control problems b. Monitors the equipment, supply, pharmaceutical and clinical staffing expenses, investigates and reports variances to the Administrator and takes corrective action c. Evaluates on an ongoing basis the efficiency of coordinating personnel and equipment d. Assists with the capital equipment budgets, based on program needs, working with medical staff to access needs and maximize benefit of equipment 4. Demonstrates leadership ability and exceptional professional behavior while conducting daily responsibilities a. Serve as a resource to staff members for administrative policies and procedures b. Ensures physician complains within established credentialing parameters c. Assists with physician and staff satisfaction on a quarterly basis, reporting results to Administrator d. Develops, implements and evaluates systems to maintain clear communications and efficient operations between clinical and non-clinical areas 5. Develops thorough collaboration with the nursing team, all clinical policies and programs for the ASC a. Develops, directs and participates in the Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Safety, Injury Illness Prevention and Infection Control programs, and ensures orientation, staff training and documentation of these programs b. Attends and directs facility staff meetings, nursing management meetings, safety meetings and Quality Control meetings as appropriate c. Assures that all clinical policies and procedures are consistent with accepted nursing standards of practice, facility standards, state and Medicare regulatory requirements, accrediting body guidelines d. Monitors programs and standards of care to ensure that standards are equally applied and maintained at the ASC e. Interprets and enforces clinical policies and procedures as necessary for Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses and nursing team f. Ensures the ASC adheres to all facility administrative policies and procedures B. Productivity 1. Maintains and evaluates own clinical expertise and surgical ASC clinical practice a. Participates in a yearly self-evaluation, if applicable b. Attends and conducts staff meetings and completes minutes for meetings 2. Attends professional training seminars when appropriate for job development and shares information with other staff members c. Attends and participates in all applicable surgical ASC training and development workshops scheduled by the facility 3. Coordinates preparation for AAAHC surveys, and works with administrator to ensure ongoing compliance with AAAHC standards Qualifications: · Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Texas. · Current BLS and ACLS certification · CNOR preferred. · Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. · Surgical nursing and operating room experience required. · Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in healthcare related organization preferred.
