Advanced technician job description

The Nondestructive Testing technician will independently perform inspections utilizing various advanced NDT (Phased Array UT, CR, DR) techniques seeking corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions in accordance with specific written criteria. The Technician will perform inspections, interpret indications, and report results per company requirements. The Technician will be able to communicate processes, procedures and results to customers.

Job Qualifications

Work Conditions
Position is based out of a branch or site location.Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis

In this job you will work on a variety of process production equipment along with process systems controlled by programmable logic controllers used in our manufacturing facility. This work includes the troubleshooting, repair, adjustment and other maintenance tasks related to the support of a wide variety production, process and production support equipment accessories and chemical distribution systems. You will perform maintenance tasks utilizing equipment manuals, assembly drawings, and electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics. Prior experience is required in performing equipment rebuilds and major repair work. You will also perform preventive maintenance tasks and develop preventive maintenance programs. You will be expected to interact professionally with all members of the team as well as all customers following all documented departmental procedures. You will also be expected to mentor and technically lead team members. Must be willing to work shifts or hours other than his or her regularly assigned shift, including scheduled or emergency overtime.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Troubleshooting and repairing complicated Production and Process maintenance equipment along with understanding strict production equipment uptime requirements.
* Performing a variety of testing and analysis tasks using various measuring tools and testing equipment.
* Using a variety of hand and power tools such as wrenches and pliers.
* Making equipment replacement parts using conventional machines such as mills, lathes and grinders.
* Exercising good judgement in analyzing test results and implementing appropriate corrective action or repairs.
* Working in disagreeable working conditions including exposure to chemicals, dirt, oil, grease, working at various heights, and in outdoor weather conditions.
* Using a computer keyboard for data entry.

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

* Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics blueprints and parts manuals.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair complicated machine tools, process equipment and systems including pumps and valves.
* Proficiency with shop math, hand tools and various measuring instruments.
* Good understanding of applicable OSHA safety regulations.

Relevant Experience Required: One to three formal trade school or equivalent experience required, with excellent troubleshooting skills on conventional and CNC machine tools and/or a variety of process equipment.

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Standing: Remaining in an upright position 75% of the time with intermittent walking and sitting.
* Lifting: Frequent lifting of components ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
* Walking: Frequent walking short distances from job to job throughout the plant.
* Carrying: Occasional carrying of equipment components or tools weighing up to 20 lbs.
* Pushing: Occasional use of hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
* Pulling: Occasional use of hand truck, parts cart, to move portable equipment a moderate distance.
* Bending: Frequent bending required to perform job tasks.
* Reaching: Frequent reaching to install and remove parts or assemblies from equipment.
* Handling: Continuous handling of small hand tools, power tools and equipment components.
* Environment: Respirator certification required.

The Advanced Care Technician/Paramedic responsibilities include:

* Assists nursing and medical staff with direct patient care and treatment, including, but not limited to: Placement of electrodes and usage of cardiac monitoring devices; Cleaning and dressing of wounds and Fractures; Placement of simple oxygen delivery devices; Initiation and placement of IVs; Patient Triage
* Performs and assists with diagnostic procedures, including, but not limited to: Collection of laboratory specimens for testing; Utilization of stat laboratory equipment; Collection and recording of vital signs; Performance of EKG testing
* Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director (with in scope of practice)

Education/Skills

* Graduate of an approved EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic course with current or eligible (through reciprocity) TDSHS licensing
* Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form to patients and staff
* Ability to work independently in the acute care setting
* Ability to document using computer based programs
* High school Diploma or GED required

Experience

* 1 year of experience preferred
* Prior health care experience in the acute care setting preferred

Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications

* Texas Department of State Health Services EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic Required
* Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of employment
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of employment
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 90 days of employment
