The CEO of Advantage Healthcare Systems, Linda Riley, first opened a clinic in June 1982 while living in Michigan.
In 1982, Doctor John Waller, Ph.D., Detroit Public Health Director, had a vision for better community health.
Detroit Health Care for the Homeless, Inc. incorporated in 1986 to improve the health of our most vulnerable population.
There she practiced in a Tri-City area until 1989, when she relocated to Texas to begin Canton Healthcare Systems.
Advantage Healthcare Systems was established in November 1999 as a response to an ongoing need for a multidisciplinary pain program that educates patients on pain control without fostering a never-ending process of dependency.
In 2003, DHCH expanded its mission to include all of those who are uninsured, or who live in areas where there are not enough doctors available.
