GENERAL PURPOSE
Serves as a national clinical leader in Physical Therapy driving overall clinical development to obtain high quality, evidence based, efficient and replicable clinical outcomes across the Aegis enterprise. Provides clinical direction to field teams. Works under the general direction and guidance of the Chief Clinical Officer, and in collaboration with the National Director of Occupational Therapy and the National Director of Speech Language Pathology, operational and functional leadership across business lines to achieve organizational goals. At the National level, analyzes pertinent outcome data and trends to identity and address clinical needs and opportunities. Along with the National Clinical team, utilizes evidence-based practice and data to develop, lead and implement plans to drive improvement for the organization. Acts as a change agent to promote understanding, address barriers, influence and inspire others and ensure successful implementation and sustainability of clinical strategies to meet overall Aegis objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Utilizes data and evidence-based practice to identify clinical enhancement opportunities and direct field to achieve improvement in overall quality, outcomes and value of services delivered at various levels of the organization
Provides direct support, oversite and development of assigned Clinical Directors
Empowers/enables/enhances clinician autonomy and understanding of development of an individualized, optimal treatment plan in the context of overall functional health
Leads full implementation, adoption and successful outcomes of clinical programs, initiatives and models of care
Actively participates with other members of the Clinical Services Department to set clinical strategic direction and objectives and in the development/revision of resources, protocols, guidelines and programs based on evidence and in the context of the current environment
Provides discipline specific clinical and thought leadership across all lines of business, keeping current in discipline specific practice trends, evidence, and regulations, applying that knowledge within the context of the current environment
Identifies opportunities to reduce redundancies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of Aegis Clinical support across all levels of the enterprise
Acts as a clinical liaison and partner to chain customers' Clinical leadership, as assigned
Partners with Quality and Compliance Department to assist with denial prevention, monitor quality review activities, documentation standards and standards of practice to assure appropriate clinical delivery of services
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited program for Physical Therapy, DPT optional
Must hold current license in at least one state of practice
Must meet Clinical Competency requirements upon hire and as needed
Ability to travel with overnight stays
MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGIC CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
At least 10 years' clinical management experience across the continuum of post-acute care, on a large scale. Experience with scope 50M or greater preferred
At least 5 years' experience setting clinical direction and developing strategy to support organizational and individual resident success
Active member of the APTA at the state and/or national level. Rehab Advocacy group(s) participation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and ability to learn and embrace company and other IT systems to optimize performance
Good communication skills both verbally (in person and remote) and in writing
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Change agent with an understanding of the dynamics of change management
Fact based and results oriented with an ability to analyze clinical, outcome and financial data, develop a plan and take appropriate action
Must have experience/expertise in development and implementation of clinical models of care and risk mitigation into daily operations
Thorough knowledge, experience and understanding of regulatory requirements, healthcare payer sources and reimbursement models
Expertise in Physical Therapy including current best practice, evidence and guidelines required
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient, employee, and company proprietary information
Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with customers, patients, families, and employees at all levels
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
