Certified Medical Assistant Essential Functions:
Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited to obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms
Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating
Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary
Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
Counseling patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about the treatment
Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.

Administer the following: Venipuncture, EKGs, vital signs, nebulizer treatments, pulse ox, audiograms, eye chart exams, urinalysis, protime testing using Coagu-Check machine, and administer injections.
Complete all laboratory requisitions in the ECW system accurately and supply all required information.
Assure that the rules of Universal Precautions are followed
Operate the following equipment: Sterilizer, centrifuge, computer, fax machine, telephones, and copy machine
Maintain the stocking and cleaning of examination rooms so for optimum usage, including ordering and monitoring of medical supplies
Process and maintain messages on the lab voicemail
Assist providers in minor procedures and gyn examinations
Perform clerical work as needed, including the completion of forms
All other related duties as requested by the Practice Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Be able to operate as a caring medical professional demonstrating good empathy for patients
Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Communicate in a clear and professional manner
Competence with organizing multiple tasks and strong attention to details
Meet the qualifications of providing medical assistant treatments in an efficient and high quality manner
Knowledgeable of medical coding
Education and Experience:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Successful completion of the national registered certification for medical assistants
Experience: 0-1 year of medical assistant experience working in a fast paced physician practice
Physical Demands: Moderate lifting to 40 lbs.
