POSITION SUMMARY

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCES
Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited college or university.
Licensed to practice behavioral health services in the state where services are being delivered (LICSW or LMHC required).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Acts as point of contact for administrative staff for discussion of treatment unit programs and problem resolution as needed.
Coordinates development and revision of policies and procedures for the identification, assessment, and provision of required clinical services for inmates housed in Secure Treatment Units.
Supervises the planning, development and implementation of treatment programs contracted to VitalCore.
Provides clinical and/or administrative supervision to staff of Behavioral Health Services within Secure Treatment Units.
Monitors efforts of Behavioral Health Services in Secure Treatment Units to ensure clinical services are being provided in a timely, professional manner.
Provides and assigns clinical on-call duties.
Provides direct clinical services including individual and group treatment, crisis intervention, as well as providing shadowing and mentor opportunities to front-line clinical staff.
Ensures treatment programs contracted are integrated and appropriately staffed.
Provides administrative support to behavioral health staff.
Coordinates with the facility's Behavioral Health Quality Improvement Program.
Attends training and meetings as required.
Maintain proficiency with all software required for the position, and more specifically, clinical documentation in the designated electronic health record system.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform as a member of Community Based Providers, working with the Department of Children and Families.
Visit with each family at client homes or other required location for the number of hours contracted. Maintain ongoing phone contact with clients, social workers and other providers as deemed necessary in helping families reach their goals and lower the level of risk in their homes.
Develop and maintain a supportive, professional relationship with caregivers or parents, empowering them to accept the help and services necessary to adequately provide the basic needs of all household members.
Meet with clients during times of their availability, which may vary according to their work or school schedules. This may include some evenings or early mornings.
Provide goals outlined in the treatment plan, designed to stabilize high-risk families and prevent out-of-home placements of children. Services may include parent education and skills development, budgeting and household management skills and helping families access support and services within their community. Families may have a multitude of issues, ranging from cognitive delays, mental health issues, financial challenges, and substance abuse addictions.
Link clients and families with community resources as needed.
Provide transportation or assist clients in arranging transportation as needed to fulfill their responsibilities as parents reach identified goals.
May assist with housing search and liaise with local housing authority.

Responsibilities:
Provide supervision and mentor students, including role modeling appropriate behavior, redirection and crisis management.
Freedom to implement social/recreational activities and involve residents as part of programming.

Deliver direct services to the residents which include daily living skills, meal preparation, hygiene practices, recreational, social activities, and any other duties necessary to reintegrate and reunify our residents into the community and with their families.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Associate or bachelor's degree or 60 college credits.
OR the equivalent of 2 years of full-time experience working with children.
OR any combination of credits in human services & experience with children that totals 2 years.
OR 7 years of parenting experience.

Valid driver's license preferred & 21 + years of age.
Authorized to work in the United States (Required).

Completes documentation using the documentation standards noted by department policies and procedures, as well as, state and federal regulations.

Keeps updated community resources to share with clients; provides update to Director for Community Resource Directory Access and for distribution to clients as needed.
Completes a statistical record of each case closed, noting recorded hours, contacts made and services provided so that department documentation and statistics can be completed.
Keeps abreast of department policies and procedures, as well as, state and federal regulation guidelines, (i.e. JCAHO, DPH, etc.) to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures, as well as, state and federal regulations.
Completes Utilization Review activities and other duties as assigned by Director.
Provides information and education to patients and their families regarding the discharge planning as part of their specific care needs and works closely with members of the multidisciplinary team including, physicians, patients, families, staff, community agencies including but not limited to LTC Mass Health Applications for SNF placement timely and efficiently with patient, family and/or significant others.
Covers department as needed in various capacities within their own scope of service.
