Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
Possess a Master's degree with a focus on Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Therapy, or Social Work.
Experience in working with couples, families, and children(under the age of 12).
If required, provisional license per state regulation.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, and business-minded Lead Commercial Counsel on the Legal & Compliance Team. What you will do

What you will need

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
The Manager, Behavioral Health Specialist oversees the work and supervision of all Behavioral Health Specialists staff. The Manager supervises employees and facilitates selection, training, and on-going evaluation of staff. Provides direct care responsibilities and leadership duties.
* Directs, supervises, and evaluates work of Behavioral Health Specialist staff. Interviews and hires all potential Behavioral Health Specialists applicants. Trains all Behavioral Health Specialist Supervisors with a focus on maintaining a therapeutic milieu and utilization of de-escalation skills, seclusion/restraint, and safe clinch.
* Facilitates monthly meetings with Behavioral Health Specialist staff to give updates, provide training and guidance, and address any concerns with staff. Identifies any performance issues of individual Behavioral Health Specialist staff. Collaborates with staff to be more actively engaging with consumers.
* Partners with the BHS Supervisors to provide clinical supervision and to oversee the quality of care. Ensures that BHS's are in compliance with Joint Commission Standards, training, and medical testing.
* Works collaboratively with clinical team to engage, monitor, and communicate with the consumer ensuring safety is maintained while meeting consumer individual needs.
* Performs all essential functions of a Behavioral Health Specialist as needed and is responsible for ensuring all responsibilities of the BHS team and BHS Supervisors are met.
* Maintains adequate staffing patterns to ensure an accurate schedule for BHS staff and proper staff to patient ratios. Accurately assesses staffing needs and increases staffing as necessary during high census times or cover PTO and decreases staffing as needed during low census times. Limits overtime as much as possible through use of Pool staff.

Community Assisted Response & Engagement (CARE) is hiring Community Crisis Responder I's as part of the expansion of the Community Crisis Response (CCR) Unit. These positions will be responsible for being the first-line responder as a part of a team with other CCR team members and will report to a Community Crisis Responder Supervisor.
CARE manages Seattle's 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency response, working with other Public Safety Departments, including Seattle Police and Seattle Fire, to ensure a safe and healthy community. CARE expands the city's ability to enhance public safety through Dual Dispatch, which provides additional mental health professionals to respond to people experiencing non-violent mental health crises or quality of life concerns.
Seattle 9-1-1 processes more than 900,000 telephone calls for service annually, the majority of which result in the dispatch of police, fire, rescue, and Community Crisis Responders.
The CCR Units operate on shifts to ensure citywide coverage seven days a week. Community Crisis Responders will be scheduled for 40 hours a week with the potential for overtime.
* Provide rapid response and crisis intervention to individuals who have come to the attention of Seattle 9-1-1.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Under the direction and supervision of the BHS Manager, the Supervisor, Behavioral Health Specialist oversees the work and supervision of assigned Behavioral Health Specialist staff. This position will have both leadership and direct care responsibilities and duties. Supervisor responsibilities (20-25%) include onboarding and training, scheduling, timesheet management and performance management of assigned staff. Direct care responsibilities (75-80%) include performing all regularly assigned Behavioral Health Specialist duties. The Supervisor, BHS actively collaborates with the Charge Nurse and other members of the shift to ensure the unit runs safely and efficiently.
* With support and guidance from BHS Manager and other clinical leadership, directs, supervises, and evaluates work of assigned Behavioral Health Specialist staff.
* Participates in interview and selection of Behavioral Health Specialists applicants.
* Responsible for onboarding and training of new hires under their supervision, including completion of the 90-day Competency Checklists.
* Maintains adequate staffing of assigned team to ensure an accurate schedule and proper staff to patient ratios. Partners with BHS Management and other BHS supervisors as needed to ensure staffing is adjusted accordingly to meet business Accurately assesses staffing needs and increases staffing as necessary during high census times or cover PTO and decreases staffing as needed during low census times. Community Assisted Response & Engagement (CARE) is hiring Community Crisis Responder II's as part of the expansion of the Community Crisis Response (CCR) Unit. These positions will be responsible for being the first-line responder as a part of a team with other CCR team members and will report to a Community Crisis Responder Supervisor.
CARE manages Seattle's 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency response, working with other Public Safety Departments, including Seattle Police and Seattle Fire, to ensure a safe and healthy community. CARE expands the city's ability to enhance public safety through Dual Dispatch, which provides additional mental health professionals to respond to people experiencing non-violent mental health crises or quality of life concerns.
Seattle 9-1-1 processes more than 900,000 telephone calls for service annually, the majority of which result in the dispatch of police, fire, rescue, and Community Crisis Responders. The CCR Units operate on shifts to ensure citywide coverage seven days a week. Community Crisis Responders will be scheduled for 40 hours a week with the potential for overtime.

* Follow-up and or counsel clients and/or families and provide crisis intervention services; and identify and resolve obstacles to service delivery. Identify clients in unsafe situations and seek solutions such as protective supervision or alterative living situation.
* Prepare written status reports or case management notes, document interviews, observations, and recommendations in database, in compliance with HIPAA and department policy and ethical standards.
* Participate in departmental meetings providing insight and trend data concerning crisis intervention issues.
* Collaboratively work with other Community Crisis Responders, Clinical Supervisor, and Department leadership to determine client eligibility for programs and authorize and/or recommend appropriate services.
* Develop and maintain client files and working relationships with service providers to obtain current information on resources available and eligibility requirements.
* Support in the development and implementation of curriculum/learning sessions when appropriate.
* Lead, coordinate, and provide support in key administrative functional areas of the Community Crisis Response Program.
* Develop and promote collaborative working relationships with service providers and other Seattle first responders to ensure quality care and case management support for community members.
* Manage internal project/caseload initiatives as assigned by supervisor and CARE leadership.
* Maintain communication with City of Seattle departments and partner agencies and conduct site visits as needed to worksite agencies to ensure compliance with personnel and employment laws, practices, and procedures.
* Strategize and identify potential resources and partnerships that contribute to the program's development. Ensure community outreach and coordination in areas of community mental, behavioral health, and crisis response.

* Requires a master's in social work, psychology, or related field.
* A minimum of 2-year experience working with individuals with mental, behavioral, substance abuse or emotional health concerns (or a combination of education and or training and or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
* Current Washington State driver's license.
* Selected candidates are required to pass a background check.

* Working experience with DSHS workers, chemical dependency treatment providers, mental health providers, healthcare providers, shelter providers, landlords, detox centers, medical clinics and other community programs which may support vulnerable participants.
* Effective communication skills including written, active listening, and non-verbal communication.
* Effective skills in case investigation and management, evaluation of facts/circumstances and clients and crisis management.
* High cultural and emotional intelligence. Strong commitment to dignity and respect for all persons.
* License from the WA State Dept of Health as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker or equivalency.

* Work is partly performed in a busy 24/7 call center environment.
* Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time.
* Required to work nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* Required to work rotating shifts.

Compensation and Benefits: This position is a Represented position and is part of the City of Seattle Step Progression pay program. The full salary range (Step 1-5) for this position is $51.29, $53.27, $55.32, $57.54, $59.81 per hour.
