CVOEO is looking for On-call Housing Advocates who need flexibility and extra income to cover regular staff absences and unfilled positions. Our Housing Advocate will provide a client-centered, trauma-informed support for emergency housing guests and others experiencing homelessness with the ultimate goal of empowering individuals to access safe, sustainable housing. Our Housing Advocates work with clients to secure housing and access essential benefits, and refer people to employment, medical, mental health, and substance use disorder services, and will work with an array of community partners to help clients access options for housing and social services. Addressing barriers to housing and working with our partner agencies to address those barriers is a crucial aspect of this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Greets callers to Valley's 24-hour Crisis Line appropriately during an assigned shift, acting in a non-judgmental and caring manner regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, and culture, and responding to callers with empathy and respect. CIS will utilize active listening skills and the crisis intervention model during all calls. Seeking out information and keeping up to date with new/changing information that affects the Crisis/Helpline including developing knowledge about resources in the caller's area. Develop behavior intervention plans based on the individualized needs of the student and family and oversees implementation through supervision of Behavior Interventionists. Collaborate with teachers and other appropriate staff members to plan for and assist with the implementation of the specified behavior management strategies in the classroom, in unstructured settings, and in one-to-one situations. Communicate behavior intervention plan with students, family members, and agency personnel, if any. Confer with program specialists to complete appropriate SEL and/or behavioral assessments, documentation, and activities related to the intervention plan. Support and oversee documentation and recording behavioral data points and outcomes, maintains student records. Produce related reports to inform ongoing behavior intervention service planning and review. Completes required state reporting.
