We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for Surgical Oncology in Duarte CA. You will function as part of a care team who, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health team, will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care. You will provide independent and collaborative medical management to a defined patient population, according to standardized procedures and in collaboration with a physician supervisor.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Provide primary, secondary, and in some cases, tertiary care within scope of practice, licensure, and organizational policies.
Services provided include, but are not limited to taking histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering, performing, and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests and therapies and furnishing drugs and devices in a cost-efficient manner for specific conditions.
Perform history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, concise, relevant, and appropriate.
Document the consultation and new patient note.
Perform routine procedures, pertinent to the practice and as granted through the privilege process.
During simple follow-up cases, the you may independently manage patients in follow-up including ordering follow-up imaging, providing medical care, and support to the patient including ordering pharmacological agents.
Interpret imaging and communicates with attending physician regarding interval patient change.
Prescribe and council patients on narcotic use safety.
Demonstrate pharmacologic knowledge including indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse effects of pharmacologic agents.
Review treatment and therapy plans with patients and appropriate family members.
Practice clinical care informed by evidence-based literature.
Instruct and counsel patients in matters related to health care management including diet, medication and physical and mental health needs and refers to the appropriate specialists when appropriate.
Your qualifications should include:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a master?s degree as a Physician Assistant.
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a master?s degree as a Nurse Practitioner
Oncology experience preferred
First Assist experience preferred
Current California Physician Assistant License
Current American Heart Association BLS certification, required.
Current American Heart Association ACLS certification, required.
Must have a current DEA.

Working Conditions
This position is physically located at the Allenby building in Sacramento County and is currently offered with the potential for a hybrid work environment. Job Description
Under general direction of Medical Directors at assigned sites, Senior Psychiatric Physician Specialists perform the following example and related duties
Provide direct psychiatric care and consultation
Assess, diagnose and provide psychiatric treatment for patients in an intensive care management setting that may include field work and working closely with families
Work closely with an intensive care management team using multiple therapeutic skills (which include the ability to combine behavioral, environmental and psychopharmacological modalities in treating individuals)
Monitor a caseload of clients regularly as well as provide cross coverage for other psychiatrists
Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team
Participate in clinic quality improvement activities
Serve as a liaison with community behavioral health providers and hospital based psychiatric team
May supervise a section or unit of a larger medical facility or program
May supervise other physicians and other professional personnel

Role description
Under general direction of Medical Directors at assigned sites, Senior Psychiatric Physician Specialists perform the following example and related duties
* Provide direct psychiatric care and consultation
* Assess, diagnose and provide psychiatric treatment for patients in an intensive care management setting that may include field work and working closely with families
* Work closely with an intensive care management team using multiple therapeutic skills (which include the ability to combine behavioral, environmental and psychopharmacological modalities in treating individuals)
* Monitor a caseload of clients regularly as well as provide cross coverage for other psychiatrists
* Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team
* Participate in clinic quality improvement activities

California Correctional Health Care Services and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation are seeking dedicated and compassionate psychiatrists to join our statewide Telepsychiatry Psychopharmacology Resource Network team.
This team provides psychiatric services to patients within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's adult correctional institutions. As a Psychopharmacology Resource Network Psychiatrist, you will consult with other psychiatrists on psychiatric treatment issues, provide education, conduct case reviews, and assist with shaping systemic practices related to psychopharmacology. Additional duties may include the facilitation of journal clubs, lectures and/or other academic activities, as indicated. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, and the provision of treatment guidance and recommendations for inmates housed within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, primarily via telepsychiatry and with the ability to work from home.
This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent.
This job is advertised in three separate counties at the following locations: Santa Ana, Rancho Cucamonga and Diamond Bar.
This position is telework-centered with in-person attendance required at the Region Institutions and the Regional Office based on operational needs and training requirements.

This team provides psychiatric services to patients within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's adult correctional institutions. As a Psychopharmacology Resource Network Psychiatrist, you will consult with other psychiatrists on psychiatric treatment issues, provide education, conduct case reviews, and assist with shaping systemic practices related to psychopharmacology. Additional duties may include the facilitation of journal clubs, lectures and/or other academic activities, as indicated. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, and the provision of treatment guidance and recommendations for inmates housed within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, primarily via telepsychiatry and with the ability to work from home.

California Correctional Health Care Services and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation are seeking dedicated and compassionate psychiatrists to join our statewide Telepsychiatry Psychopharmacology Resource Network team.
This team provides psychiatric services to patients within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's adult correctional institutions. As a Psychopharmacology Resource Network Psychiatrist, you will consult with other psychiatrists on psychiatric treatment issues, provide education, conduct case reviews, and assist with shaping systemic practices related to psychopharmacology. Additional duties may include the facilitation of journal clubs, lectures and/or other academic activities, as indicated. This role includes evaluation, diagnosis, and the provision of treatment guidance and recommendations for inmates housed within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, primarily via telepsychiatry and with the ability to work from home.
This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent.

Under general direction of the Senior Psychiatrist (Sup), the Psychiatrist in Mental Health Services is a member of an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team providing general population outpatient services to inmates. The Team includes other psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric social workers assigned to a Service Area. In general, the staff psychiatrist in case management performs psychiatric evaluations, participates in treatment planning and case reviews, prescribes medications, and provides crisis intervention and psychotherapy. The staff psychiatrist also provides consultations and training in treatment approaches to both clinical and custody staff of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.

Physicians for the SWC contribute to the design, delivery, and quality enhancement of primary and specialty healthcare and wellness support to achieve this vision campus-wide. The Student Wellness Center provides limited psychiatric services for students which may include diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric illness. The Psychiatrist is expected to obtain a detailed intake assessment, as well as to order any appropriate laboratory tests to support diagnostic evaluations. The Psychiatrist may, when appropriate, refer students to other practitioners within the SJSU Wellness Center or refer to community resources for more extensive follow-up and treatment. Receiving operational direction from the Lead Physician and reporting to the Health Services Director, the Student Wellness Center Psychiatrist works independently in performing assigned student services and consultations with SWC medical staff and counseling staff. Consultation could involve advice regarding psychiatric diagnostic treatment and psychotherapeutic activities and are in accordance with the overall operation of the SWC and within the scope of the program established by the Board of Trustees. Working Conditions
The employee is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital. All employees are required to have an annual health review and TB test or whenever necessary to ascertain that they are free from symptoms indicating the presence of infection and are able to safely perform their essential job functions.
Maximum of 960 hours per Fiscal Year (July 1 - June 30)
There are multiple vacancies for this classification. Positions filled may be assigned to any shift on any program.
This position requires you to work within the Secured Treatment Area (STA).

Department Information
DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.
