JOB SUMMARY The Retail Planning Manager oversees retail planning and allocation for 24 Hour Fitness, ensuring accurate forecasting, inventory management, and promotional execution across 230+ clubs. This role is responsible for driving financial results through data-driven strategies and cross-functional collaboration. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES Planning and Forecasting + Develop the Retail Annual Operating Plan, including department-level sales, margin, and inventory budgets aligned with product strategies and club-level targets. + Maintain dynamic SKU-level forecasts for multiple distributors using real-time sales, inventory, and receipt data. + Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) process, month-end reconciliations, and margin reporting to support financial planning. + Identify risks and opportunities to the business and recommend strategies to achieve financial goals. + Lead monthly reforecasting and present financial scenarios to senior leadership for review and approval. + Execute the full promotion process, including forecasting, purchasing, allocation planning, performance recaps, and credit requests. + Analyze slow-turning SKUs and recommend edits, markdowns, or promotional strategies to optimize inventory and reduce reserve risk. + Maintain pricing integrity through markdown management and cost/retail updates. + Support new SKU onboarding, including forecast integration, system settings, and allocation planning. + Drive allocation processes in Mi9, ensuring accurate inventory status, clearance management, and purchase order authorizations. + Manage club-level reporting to make recommendations and influence allocation strategies and oversee item replenishment settings in Mi9 to ensure accurate allocation processes. + Deliver weekly and monthly reporting, including sales dashboards, inventory status, promotional performance, and margin analysis. Reporting and Analysis + Develop and deliver retail performance reporting for sales, margin, inventory, and OTB. + Create and maintain reporting frameworks across daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal cadences. + Analyze merchandise and location-level data to provide actionable recommendations. + Track and report on tests and new initiatives, providing clear performance results and guidance. Cross Functional Partnership + Build strong partnerships and maintain clear communication with key stakeholders, including Operations, Allocations, Inventory Accounting, Finance, and IT. + Collaborate with Operations and Field Leadership to support initiatives and resolve challenges. + Strengthen relationships with distributor and vendor partners to optimize Inventory and purchasing strategies based on various initiatives and timeline Special Projects + Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. + Partner with cross-functional teams on tool implementations and reporting innovations. + Support system upgrades, integrations, and testing to ensure smooth adoption. + Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation in planning and reporting. ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS The Planning Manager maintains strong working relationships with the Operations Manager and Allocation Analyst. This role also interacts with Inventory Accounting, Finance, IT, and Club Operations to ensure seamless execution of retail strategies.
