This position is expected to begin in Spring 2026.

Minimum Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of design process, conceptual thinking and detailed design/construction document knowledge, well organized and attention to scheduling requirements, as well as a good understanding of time management.
Ability to plan and organize multiple projects and work with other multi-discipline team members; effective time management is an inherent trait expected of all internship candidates.
The candidate will be expected to maintain regular office hours and participate in company functions where appropriate; domestic travel may also be potential, and the intern must be able to fulfil this task.
A strong focus on studio culture and collaboration is an important aspect of our practice. The candidate should be confident and willing to work with all staff levels from Entry Level Landscape Architects through Practice Leaders.
Ability to possess an entry-level understanding and knowledge of design, master planning, construction materials, techniques and specifications.
Entry-level proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, SketchUp, Rhino, and other related CADD software.
A college or university student with two academic years remaining before earning a degree preferred; these students are typically in their junior, senior year of an undergraduate program. Job Description
Our award-winning urban design, landscape architecture, and planning practice is seeking Urban Designer or Landscape Architecture Design Leader who has a passion for working on complex civic-focused projects. This role is to be based in Cleveland or Columbus, OH.
A key quality of a candidate will be their ability to bring design leadership and foster a culture of design to an established design practice and a diverse set of internal and external collaborators. The successful candidate will work on local projects as we as well as projects in other locales across the country. Regardless of project location, the successful candidate must be a strategic thinker, drive a design process, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and have a willingness and excitement to collaborate with partners across AECOM's multi-disciplinary platform.

Job Description
AECOM is searching for a Senior Secure Spaces Interior Designer to be located at one of our main offices in the West Region - Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA ; Columbus, Cleveland, OH Other AECOM office locations may be considered.
The Secure Spaces Interior Designer will support the design, development, and delivery of secure facilities for Federal clients, in compliance with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and other applicable standards. This role requires an understanding of secure space requirements, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) or Special Access Program Facility (SAPF), secure communications centers, and other classified environments. The Secured Spaces Interior Designer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, Federal agencies, and contractors to deliver innovative, compliant, and functional designs that meet the unique needs of secure operations.
As an emerging subject matter expert, the Secure Spaces Interior Designer will contribute the business at large as being an informed resource of related specialized information.
Key Responsibilities
Design
* Support the architectural design of secure spaces, including SCIFs, SAPF, secure conference rooms, and other classified environments, in compliance with ICD-705, DoD standards, and client-specific requirements.
* Collaborate with Accrediting Official (AO), and supports the development of Construction Surveillance Plans (CSP).
* Develop detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, and specifications, that meet security, operational, and aesthetic goals.
* Provides technical coordination with other designers and contractors for the design of acoustical and Radio Frequency (RF) shielding requirements in compliance with UFC 4-010-05 and ICD 705.
* Collaborate with engineers, security consultants, and other disciplines to integrate physical security measures, such as access control, intrusion detection, and acoustic protection, into facility designs.
* Conduct design reviews to ensure adherence to Federal standards and project objectives.
The best qualified candidate will embody these critical qualities:
* Strength in understanding of the customer and building type (need to understand how they work and how these buildings are organized)
* Strength in customer engagement, facility programming, leadership, communications
* Strength in facility planning and space planning (multi-disciplinary systems, utilities organization, etc.)
* Understanding of secure networks, security zones, and access control
* Understanding of FF&E and its relationship in concert with facility planning fundamentals
* At least a strong familiarity with ICD 705 and TEMPEST fundamentals and how they influence the functional planning of secure facilities

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Entry Level Architectural Designer.
This position is located in the Cleveland, Ohio office, which is a dynamic studio focusing on a large variety of project types, including higher education, cities, corporate commercial, logistical and federal projects. We are seeking a Designer with good technical, conceptual, visual, and communication skills to work in a highly collaborative and design-oriented studio.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Participate in high-energy, collaborative team and project environments
* Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes, type and complexity
* Produce rapid visualization of design concepts and assist with building presentations to clients
* Developing iterative solutions for a variety of design working under supervision by senior design staff
* Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations
* Coordinates design activities with other engineering disciplines
* Participate in design through all phases, from concept to construction administration.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
* BA/BS in Architecture + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's in architecture
* Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
* Working knowledge of 3D modeling; Revit, Sketchup, and/or Rhino desired
* Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
* Desire to actively work toward architectural licensure
* LEED Accreditation
* Strong interpersonal skills.

Job Description
AECOM is searching for a Senior Secure Spaces Interior Designer to be located at one of our main offices in the West Region - Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA ; Columbus, Cleveland, OH Other AECOM office locations may be considered.
The Secure Spaces Interior Designer will support the design, development, and delivery of secure facilities for Federal clients, in compliance with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and other applicable standards. This role requires an understanding of secure space requirements, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) or Special Access Program Facility (SAPF), secure communications centers, and other classified environments. The Secured Spaces Interior Designer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, Federal agencies, and contractors to deliver innovative, compliant, and functional designs that meet the unique needs of secure operations.
As an emerging subject matter expert, the Secure Spaces Interior Designer will contribute the business at large as being an informed resource of related specialized information.
Key Responsibilities
Design
* Support the architectural design of secure spaces, including SCIFs, SAPF, secure conference rooms, and other classified environments, in compliance with ICD-705, DoD standards, and client-specific requirements.
* Collaborate with Accrediting Official (AO), and supports the development of Construction Surveillance Plans (CSP).
* Develop detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, and specifications, that meet security, operational, and aesthetic goals.
* Provides technical coordination with other designers and contractors for the design of acoustical and Radio Frequency (RF) shielding requirements in compliance with UFC 4-010-05 and ICD 705.
* Collaborate with engineers, security consultants, and other disciplines to integrate physical security measures, such as access control, intrusion detection, and acoustic protection, into facility designs.
* Conduct design reviews to ensure adherence to Federal standards and project objectives.
The best qualified candidate will embody these critical qualities:
* Strength in understanding of the customer and building type (need to understand how they work and how these buildings are organized)
* Strength in customer engagement, facility programming, leadership, communications
* Strength in facility planning and space planning (multi-disciplinary systems, utilities organization, etc.)
* Understanding of secure networks, security zones, and access control
* Understanding of FF&E and its relationship in concert with facility planning fundamentals
* At least a strong familiarity with ICD 705 and TEMPEST fundamentals and how they influence the functional planning of secure facilities
Qualifications
Minimum:
* Bachelor's in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* NCIDQ certified
* Interior Design licensure required
* This position requires U.S. citizenship due to federal contract/security requirements.
Preferred:
* Masters degree in Interior Design or similar
* 10 years plus of interior design experience, with at least 3 years focused on designing secure facilities for Federal clients.
