Job Description AECOM is seeking experienced Environmental Project Manager in the Northeast region with leaking underground storage tank (UST) investigation/remediation experience and leaking UST regulatory knowledge in the states of CT, MA, NH, NY, and/or RI. This position will report to one of the AECOM offices in the Northeast region including but not limited to Rocky Hill CT, Chelmsford MA, Manchester, NH or Providence, RI. The candidate will be allowed to work remotely, however they need to reside in one of the states mentioned above. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate UST investigation/remediation project experience and require a strong focus on health and safety, be detailed orientated, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: * Managing scope, schedule, and budget for large-sized investigation/remediation and construction projects. Completing a variety of remedial designs * Building strong client relationships * Client and regulatory correspondence * Technical report writing and review * Analyzes and applies solutions to atypical and/or semi-complex and challenging issues within area of expertise * Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits * Preparing cost estimates and proposals * Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders * Coordinating work schedules with AECOM staff and subcontractors * Responsible for quality control of tasks * Mentor project Jr. staff * Will require some regional travel for field visits * Supervise up to 5 staff Qualifications Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology, or closely related field and (2) two years of Project Management experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education * Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required.     APTIM is seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist, but will consider an entry level candidate, in the Atlanta, GA area, on a full-time basis, in primary support of our stormwater compliance program. There will also be opportunities to participate in a variety of other environmental compliance support tasks, including but not limited to, solid waste, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, aboveground storage tanks, spill prevention, DOT and RCRA compliance, site assessment and remediation, and/or environmental data management. The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting an environmental team. This position will require travel to client facilities to conduct stormwater inspection/sampling activities, environmental compliance reviews and/or gather related data. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Collecting environmental samples in the field and preparing and preserving samples for delivery to an analytical laboratory. Calibrating and using technical instruments. Gain familiarity with site specific requirements through review of permit and planning documents, including the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) or State-Specific General Permit, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan, and any other applicable plans that have been prepared for the site. Demonstrate ability to efficiently plan, organize and schedule field activities within required frequencies and timeframes including adherence to required communication with client to obtain approval for site access. This includes performing compliance activities at multiple sites on the same day and monitoring forecasted weather conditions to ensure successful completion of weather dependent field activities. Field activities require travel to and from each site utilizing a personal vehicle and interfacing with client personnel at a facility level. Travel and flexibility of working hours is required to accommodate stormwater sampling requirements based on qualifying rain events. Field activities may require working in all types of field conditions/weather, overtime, and on weekends. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment. Work will consist of straightforward tasks using established procedures, with the potential for solving routine problems as encountered. Develop and maintain records either manually or by computer method. Perform field inspections, evaluate site conditions during sampling, and document results (visual and written).     APTIM is seeking an entry Environmental Scientist on a full-time basis in the Irvine, CA area in primary support of our solid waste composition assessments of client waste containers ranging in size from 3 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards. These assessments are typically 1-2 days in duration with typical team sizes ranging from 2 to 5 depending on the size of the assessment. Assessment Work activities will include sorting through solid waste using hand tools to segregate waste items by type for the purpose of assessing various types of waste including plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, food waste and regulated materials. Assisting with the separation of the waste, weighing and inventorying items for the purpose of data analysis and reporting. Work requires the ability to bend and lift 30 pounds or less, willingness to work in Tyvek safety suits, wear required safety equipment, and ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours. As experience is gained, motivated candidates will have the opportunity to become Team Leads and/or take on additional responsibilities coordinating assessment work activities for a wide variety of clients and preparing documentation related to the results of the assessments. Successful candidates can also participate in a variety of other environmental compliance support tasks, such as hazardous waste, hazardous materials, aboveground storage tanks, spill prevention, and DOT and RCRA compliance. The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting an environmental team.     APTIM is seeking an early career Environmental Scientist on a full-time basis to participate in a variety of environmental compliance support tasks, such as permitting/management of hazardous waste, hazardous materials, above ground and/or underground storage tanks, spill prevention, and DOT and RCRA compliance. The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting an environmental team. This position will primarily be in an office environment but may also require travel to client facilities to conduct environmental compliance reviews and/or gather related data. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: * Executing various work scopes, while meeting project schedules and budgets * Working independently and as part of a project team and be able to adjust to changing conditions * Research and understanding regulatory regulations * Working as a team member and/or team lead to assist in preparation of regulatory reports and permit applications * Data entry and management, likely on multiple software platforms * Work in client asset management systems to document research and findings * Interfacing with client personnel at a corporate and facility level * Managing time to ensure a quality product is prepared to meet project deadlines * Applying knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations * Following defined processes explicitly while also being able to identify and accommodate new or changing scenarios as well as developing processes for new activities. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a core science (such as geology, chemistry, physics, or biology) * Some business courses recommended. * External Job Description: engineering, environmental science, or related area required. * Related work experience of 1 - 2 years recommended. * Prior experience or training regarding environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations desirable. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Strong computer skills required. * Must have a demonstrated strength and proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams, SharePoint Online, etc. and the ability to learn other software applications. * Willing and able to work in the field and travel to complete work. Responsibilities Conduct various environmental analyses (field and desktop), develop recommendations, and prepare technical reports under TxDOT guidance and applicable state regulations and programs. Complete waters of the U.S. reports and wetland delineations. Provide quality assurance and quality control for all final products to ensure technical accurateness and regulatory compliance. Document and summarize results of field investigations and analyses. Provide client and regulatory agency coordination. Assist in the preparation of proposals and other marketing endeavors. Conduct desktop studies using ArcMap GIS software. Review and interpret planning studies and/or preliminary design plan sets or concepts. Interact with coworkers, designers, clients, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants to achieve project objectives. Assist other team members with various NEPA studies. Assist with work in additional states as needed. Assist with public involvement efforts. Requirements: BS in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field. Requirement: 5+ years of experience with wetland delineations and NEPA, as it relates to transportation projects. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
