This position is expected to begin in Spring 2026. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: * Builds analytic and design skills. * Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer. * Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. * Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. * Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. * Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. * Perform field inspection work related to construction projects Qualifications Minimum Requirements * BA/BS in Civil Engineering or a related field + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education * Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required. * Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. This position will primarily support soil and groundwater investigations and removal activities at Superfund sites located throughout EPA Region 7 (Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska). Responsibilities will include: * Management of field projects, including supervision of junior staff. * Preparation of cost estimates and work plans. * Writing and technical review of reports to clients and regulators. * Oversight of monitoring well installation and well logging. * Planning and oversight of field studies including the collection of soil, groundwater, surface water, and indoor air samples. * Interpretation of sample data and preparation of data summary reports. * Supporting other environmental studies including Phase I and II environmental site assessments. * The position will require extensive outdoor work as well as overnight travel. In this position you will be part of multiple project teams, in some cases as a project manager and in other cases as project support staff. You will continue to expand your project management abilities, with opportunities to move into a supervisor/team leader role. Tetra Tech provides mentoring and training opportunities to help staff hone their areas of expertise and diversify their interests. Opportunities to complete your professional geologist (PG) or registered geologist (RG), along with advancement into program management, client development, and leadership roles will be provided. Qualifications Candidates must have 7-12 years of experience with environmental studies, analyzing hazardous materials in the environment (soil, groundwater, air, etc.), environmental consulting, or related activities. The selected candidate must also have/be: * Extensive report writing experience and some project management experience. * Previous technical review experience and experience at EPA Superfund sites is preferred. * Possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal). * Highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment. * Proficiency with MS Word and Excel required. In addition, the following is required: * Background check Degree / Certification * B.A. or B.S. degree in Geology or Geological Engineering is required. * Completion of 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training are required to perform this work. If the successful candidate does not already possess this training, Tetra Tech will provide training prior to initiating regular work duties in the field. * Licensure as a professional geologist (PG) or registered geologist (RG) is preferred but not required. Work Environment This position requires roughly 25-35% travel.
